Also thought I mention that if you are after 3 or more the postage is fixed at $40. So 3 would cost a bit over $88 all up ($29 ea) and 4 would cost a tad under $105 ($26 ea) and so on ….

I remember as a child hearing the tales from my great grandmother about how when she was a little girl in Egypt that her family would make traditional Polypropylene rugs.

Your gramma must had mesmerising memory with all the chemicals.

    • Luckily they didn't have tumble dryers or bleach in those days.

    • +3

It was a different life. Tough, and character-building, but beautiful in its simple way… spending all day in the field, under the harsh sun, harvesting polyprolylene…

  • is pick up possible

    • If you can find it in store.

      • do they allow store pick up if you buy online

    • +1

They're probably only 10kg or so

      • Wouldn't even be half that.

  • +3

shame my missus found it a bit old fashioned… this is the kind of product I wouldn't be able to hide in the cupboard, under the desk, in a box in the shelf, inside a computer, in the garden…

  • Awesome deal, $36.14 delivered. This will go nicely in the rumpus, the floor is always cold. I have a very 70s house so it'll fit in nicely. Only beige though, the red one would have been awesome but $99 no thanks.

  • Good price but just want to know about quality i.e. knots density (or points)?

    • +7

Mate it's polypropylene. Imagine a rug made of shredded plastic bags.

  • Any idea how thick/cushioned this is? Need a cheap rug to pop on top of my cheap carpet to add a little extra padding for the little one as he learns to walk.

    • You can always buy 10 of em ;)

    • About 15mm.

    • Thickness is around 7 mm btw chief.

So does anyone know if these polypropylene rugs have been treated with fire retardants?

    • +3

Prolly best not to set em on fyah champ

      • +2

Actually it's because fire retardants retardants raise health concerns, including cancer, hormone disruption, and harmful effects on brain development. This is especially a concern with babies playing on them all day

        • Ah okay then fair enough bud hahaha. Might have to contact Spotlight for info on that stuff.

That rug really tied the room together.

    Bleaching Instructions: Do not bleach.
Drying Instructions: Do not tumble dry.

    LOL.

Received ours that was pretty quick. Not bad I have to say good for a rumpus room, bedroom, home office etc. Thickness is around 7 mm. For under $30 ea delivered can't complain. Cheers Spotlight!

When did you order it and when did you receive it? I just ordered one and am wondering when it will arrive as I will be away for a couple weeks around Christmas. I'm in metro Sydney if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Purchased Sunday arvo bud. Thought it was a pricing error or something but got the dispatch email on Monday and they were delivered this morning. So my bet would be a Monday delivery for you. Got mine delivered by Aus post btw and requires a signature.

Love ya all, you OP suckers! I already received today my Uniqlo parcel, ma-an, really good quality stuff, and it worked out just over $4 for a pair of boxers. I'm waiting for a pair of Hi Tec hikers at $32 (reviews are patchy for that product though, will see and check it out myself), another $260 spent on 4 pairs of Hush Puppies after a price check with the discount store where in the past I would buy quality shoes came back almost at double per pair price. Another $289 spent on JBL Xtreme after an OzB post led me into researching good quality mid-tier BT speakers. I'm already forced to check OzB site at least twice a day. The only drawback: in a week's span, my CC took ~$700 hit, and I'm in a strict economy mode (for example, I have not succumbed to the notorious Eneloop hoarding decease). But there are deals that you simply can't ignore. Like this one. I'm no real need for a rug at the moment, but: ignore a deal like that, and the karma WILL punish you (and may you forever pay full MSRP on everything you buy). So, gave a call to my local Spotlight at Rockdale, carefully worded my query questions, the last two being "Do you have it in cream colour?" and "Can you confirm the price?" There was a bit of delay with the answer to the last one, which came in a surprised voice tone. I suspect I inadvertently tipped off the store staff, since during the call there were rugs in store, but by the time I came to collect it in ~30 min, apparently it was the last one (in cream colour). That just tells you about the quality of OzB intel.
    /enchanted rant over

    • So after all that did ya buy the damn rug or not hahaha

      • +1

My item was put aside for collection (at $19 :) ). You should have seen the respect in the eyes of the cashier lady and her colleague at the checkout :)). P.S.: thanks for the original post, mate. I usually don't login when browsing OzB, so this time went and up-voted all OPs from my previous deals.

Good rant! I think we are the same person because other than the JBL we both bought the same deals. It's been a tough December on the credit card - although if you were smart and paid on this debit card you'd have a $100 gift card to show for all your deal seeking.

Congrats on the rug, I think it'll really tie the room together

  • I had like this on the wall in the 80s.

  • Bought one from Bondi Store along with Elna EL2000 sewing machine which was discounted in store at 99$ in store while stock last along with 15% off total transaction. Total cost 100.30$. Nice post OP. Was in search for both these items for quite some time now.

Went to Spotlight in Preston, it is available in-store for $19

I called and put one aside for me in Carnegie, Victoria store. When I went to pick up I walked to the rugs section to check the quality of the rug before paying. I was very disappointed. So, I was looking at other rugs and liked a couple. I was prepared to pay more. But the price tags were missing. So, I asked a staff to check. To my shock, he was giving me 50% discounts on top clearance prices. He said only the shaggy rugs were on 50% discount but he was happy to give me 50% of on any rug. I ended up buying 2 high quality rugs for $70. So, guys go in store and try your luck.

  • Hi ABK,

I picked yesterday from Bondi NSW store. It was marked as 99$
