  • I got some of these coming. Some guy tests usb cables and theyre on his list as good cables. Hopefully they'll work as advertised.

    • Benson Leung?

edit: i couldn't find a benson review on this model.. but found one for the 1m model, which banggood have discounted to 6AUD delivered.

Although, banggood have incorrectly labelled it USB3.1. Don't think it's their fault, as apparently also labelled such on the box. More info on the amazon page:

      • I got the 1m ones.
A mate who ordered the same received his today. Mine are still coming, the joys of living in the bush lol.
He confirmed that they indeed do fast charging and data works as well. We both have the v20 and you have to change the setting to file transfer in it.

I also ordered a couple of xiaomi adaptors and q3 car charger. Already received those and they work as advertised. Quick charge works fine using some trosnmart cables from previous deals.

Just ordered a 3m one, need one for the bedroom, not fussed how that works as long as it charges.

Also preorderd the charger listed below.

        • tempted by the charger pre-order but it's gone up to $17ish now. I got xiaomi mi5, and not really clear on whether type-c and qc3 are compatible together… so happy to stick with qc2 for now.

  • know if there are any usb c to usb c cables?

  • I bought the one metre version a while back. Sturdy cables which have held up well.

keep in mind some negative reviews may have been deleted as Bangggood deleted mine on a product last week.

Still waiting for mine from 20th October.

          Haha thanks nocure👌🏼

    • Same, just got my refund last week. It never arrived and was sitting in some random dhl warehouse in Sydney since the 27th Oct.

  • Bit expensive for a cable. 3m is longer than I need.

    • I agree it is expensive for a cable, and 3m is fairly long, but I can say that my double sided micro USB braided blitzwolf cable has last longer than any cable I've ever owned before..
I think if you can find a 2m a bit cheaper it's definitely worth the price

    • Your average 3' USB-C cable costs no less than $30-$40 in stores. This is a bargain.

      • That's if you go to stores. You are consenting to getting ripped off.

Go to ebay, and suddenly it looks a lot less like a bargain. If you're willing to settle for a non-Blitzwolf brand, you can get cables very cheap.

If you shop for Monster brand products, you pay the Monster tax.

        • Yeah I can get cheap USB-C cables that aren't to spec and could easily fry my phone. No thanks.

    • I always thought longer cables were less efficient… but anyway, they have the 1m cable for 6aud delivered
      http://www.banggood.com/BlitzWolf-2_4A-USB-Type-C-Reversible…

  • Bought a 2m and 3m a while back, can't transfer files to/from PC to phone with these. Maybe a compatibility thing with my phone? I have the Zenfone 3 Deluxe.

    • They may be power-only (charging) cables. Not all cables transfer data.

EDIT: It mentions data speed in the spec so that theory is out.

      • These are the 2 I bought, both state the data speed of 480Mbps. Not a big deal since I have the original cable that transfers data just fine, but boy did I waste a good hour trying to get these things to work…

        http://www.banggood.com/BlitzWolf-2_4A-USB-Type-C-Reversible…

        • I have a 1m BlitzWolf cable in my car although it's non-Type C which I absolutely love (best cable I've owned!), though it's purely a charging cable so I haven't even checked it's data transfer ability. That said I've noticed more and more in recent 'higher quality' cables I've bought don't support data at all which is why I made my first comment, perhaps the specs are incorrect and lost in translation somehow.

Like you, I have another cable here for the sole duty of data transfers, I don't care to compare cables since Phone to PC is always slower anyway.

    • Mine the sync pins had conductivity with the data pins… I was wondering why it wasn't working for data transfers, glad it didn't damage my USB ports and/or phone, lol…

  • magnetic USB type C cables
This is all good & well, but you can get magnetic Type C USB cables for less than $6 delivered on ebay.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-4A-Magnetic-Type-C-USB-Charger-…

These disconnect if they're tugged, to protect the cable and the device. They also make it easy to attach the cable without worrying about orientation (double row of metal contacts mean the cable can go in either way, even if you buy a regular magnetic MicroUSB version, which normally only goes in one way). The only downside is they stick out a bit when plugged into your device, so it's not nice to drop your phone or tablet on that connector (the connector may be sticking out a bit on your phone or tablet). And those little contacts are exposed too, which isn't ideal. But in general they are better to own.

Not exactly 3 metres either (more like a more manageable 1.2M) but magnetic cables are far more useful to more people, in my opinion. Especially in case of tugging accidents & general cable problems that tugging can cause. Braiding a cable serves no practical purpose other than to convince people that their cable is special and different to the heaps of unbraided cables around, but if you want that, go for it.

    • I wouldn't trust my $1K phone to a $6 cable from eBay with absolutely no guarantee. Especially when those cables are rated to carry 2.4A.

This is one thing I wouldn't cheap out on. Too many dodgy cables out there frying electronics.

      • Never tried the USB C models yet but have used Magnetic MicroUSB cables with great success (just over $4 each).

        • That's the thing, micro-USB wasn't designed to carry 2.4A and the concept has been around long enough that manufacturing is literally dirt cheap for them. USB-C is still relatively new and due to the default dual-sided design they're a lot harder to manufacture. If they're going this cheap they're definitely not meeting minimum spec for USB-C (gauge of wire, proper shielding etc).

        • @potplanty:
Good points. Maybe something to watch out for with USB C. I am tempted to test them myself, but so far no USB C hardware to test with. Maybe next year we'll see a bunch of low-end devices with the port.

@cheepwun: An ex-Google engineer now tests USB-C cables for fun and posts reviews online. http://gizmodo.com/a-google-engineer-is-publicly-shaming-cra…

  • I have a few of these. all have lasted well and work for charging consistently. However they won't "fast charge" my LG G5, even using the LG factory power plug. YMMV but they aren't as fast as factory.

    • +2

Type C to C would Fast Charge at 5V/3A while this will only do 5V/2.4A.

      • Any good Christmas deals coming on the lightning connector cables (packs or individual)?

    • recently - I got 2 other QC3.0 chargers, and if i want them to 'fast charge' my LG G5 i have to plug them in twice (plug in and wait - fast charge wouldnt start, plug in again and wait 5?secs fast charge starts fine….)

      Go figure…

  • I bought one of these in red from Banggood about 6 months ago. I chose it because it was 3m and the cheapest I could find that was Benson Leung approved. It has been sturdy and works with my new MacBook Pro 2016, OnePlus 3 phone, any power adapter and older netbook. I would love a magnetic cable but I wouldn't trust it for USB-A to USB-C for fear of frying! I'm looking out for a USB-C only magnetic cable. Hope this helps!

  • Any Au fast wall charger on sales soon?

    • +1

      ~AU$13 for a 2port (QC3+Normal) if you're fine with preorder.

Otherwise only ones with AU plugs are the 4/5port ones that use the figure8 cable.

      • Cheers. Bought myself a black one.

      • How you get $13AU?

        • My apologies, seems coupon has actually expired now. It worked a week or two ago.

Still isn't a bad deal for US$13 - only QC3.0 I've ever seen with an Australian plug. (Beyond figure8 cable models)

Edit; use code 12blitzw, brings it down to US$11.69
