  • Is this good compared to homelite which has the same price but with 26cc motor?

  • +5

We've had one of these for the past year. Established plane trees on our street mean that it sucks up loads of leaves and pollen each season. It's not bad for the price (it's comparable to the more expensive Makita that we previously had) however be warned that the canvas bag is poorly positioned very close to the motor when you're carrying it, and despite being really careful, we've already had two holes burned into ours. The canvas bags cost $70 to replace, so I'm tempted to buy another whole unit at this price so that we have a back up.

    • Thinking to get one of these. How is it's reliability otherwise and sucking power?

        Does it reliably suck?

Apart from the massive design flaw with the bag positioning, I'd consider it a good product. It's slightly more powerful than the $300 + Makita, and has performed reliably through the spring season (I'd estimate we've sucked up at least 12 green bins worth of leaves, pollen etc).

Could you not just stick or sew a bit of foil on the bag where it might come in contact with the motor?

  • I have the ozita electric one which is pathetic for blowing. Thinking about returning it and swapping for one of these - does the 3 year warranty cover holes in tbe bag or unhappy with performance?

    • If it doesn't work as described/promised you can get a refund via ACL.

Thanks for posting, I was looking last night and going to buy a cheaper model but grab this in the morning. Kingsgrove nsw store had 10 in stock.

    Good points
    Good leaf blowing/vacuuming performance.
Easy to convert from blower to vacuum.
    Good controls.

    Bad points
Noticeable vibration, annoying and uncomfortable on the hands. Our tester had to swap hands every 40-50 seconds or so.
    Very noisy.

  • Thnx op. Just purchased one. Seems a few different mculloch items at $99. I saw chainsaw and whipper snipper too.

    Some feedback
I've setup the blower and it's good , single hand operation. It's good and powerful enough for home use.
I didn't try the vacuum but the instructions show its side mount and have to hold with both hands.
