Is there a DVD drive on this one ? Or did JB Hifi page list it wrong ?
the Lenovo website doesn't have this specs?
Looks like the third one on this page:
http://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-700-ser…
Edit: You're right, none of those listed on the Aussie site have this CPU. And this model doesn't have a DVD drive. Hmmm…
On the US site though: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/700-series/710s…
thx for checking.
oz site is still on the 6th gen. hard to believe JB HIFI got the 7th gen already. the price is good as well. if we predict the 7th gen's price based on the 6th, it is likely to be $1500. i've been looking for the new xps 13. it sometimes takes 20% off and becomes $1600, that is $600 more than this 710S deal. gee, i might give up on dell.
Yep, so weird. It makes no sense that JB got the 7th gen before the Lenovo AU website and then discounted it by $400-500 but the specs on the JB website do match what they are selling in store (except no DVD).
I have this laptop (except with i7-6500u)… good price, I paid ~$1400 for it back in August.
Confirming there is no DVD drive.
Is it really as light as claimed (1.1kg)? That's pretty impressive.
Haven't weighed it myself, but yes it's pretty damn light
Thanks mate. So tempted. Going to JB now for a look.
Price is now $1019.15 (coupon expired yesterday).
You could still try this though if you felt inclined: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/205084
I think this deal should be reactivated with the coupon removed. $1019.30 still is an amazing price for this, especially considering that this is the brand new Kaby Lake model (personally confirmed, I just bought it) which as far as I can tell is not available anywhere else in Australia, not even from the Lenovo website.
On benchmarks, the i5-7200u is faster than the older i7-6500u which makes this a better machine for most users than even the most expensive ($1999) 710s on the Lenovo Australia website.

Sorry I meant $1019.15.
holly shit, in the US, they are doing a special with these specs.
for US$999($1299 reg), you get (or could get, it is out of stock now)
i7 7500u
16g ram
512g pcie ssd
no wonder it is out of stock
man…….
where do I get 10% off JB GIFTCARDS
