@kanewestmk2: Everyone knows that the reputation of the Gold Coast has been tarnished in the recent years, but there's not many places in Australia where you can enjoy golden sandy beaches with city amenities. Throw in the bonus of easy Tiger Airways access, 4 star hotels for 88 bucks and you've got yourself a getaway, that's a hell of a lot cheaper than what the travel agent throws at you. Especially in the low season with no schoolies, there would be less trouble. It is seriously funny how people who read news.com.au or any other bogan, sensationalised media like to draw on generalisations.

The area around "Surfers Paradise" is a great region… or don't open your mind or eyes and see only what you want.
Great price but don't expect too much from the 4star rating,more like 3, from experience. Still great price though.
To bad Surfers Paradise is a disgusting whole.
