  • Still waiting for HomeKit support :(

    • HomeKit support will not happen with the exisiting bulbs. You cannot just update the firmware for it.

they need to release a bulb or hub with HomeKit hardware.

I have HomeKit with mine by using a raspberry Pi but Siri sucks. I just ordered two amazon echos in hope that Alexa is better than Siri.

  • no good deal on new one :(

  • +1

These were $15-$20 AUD recently. Not a bad deal though.

Has anyone noticed these white ones don't dim any further once you hit 10 percent and below?

Or is it just mine?! My full colour ones continue to dim down a lot further for each percentage point I reduce under 10.

    • When? Was it posted as a deal?

    • Mine Wemo LED has the same problem.

Also, I have a Xiaomi Desk lamp (with Philips) - same issue with 10%

I would think it's kind of common problem…..

      • I think it's an issue the white variant as both do the same, while my full coloured LIFX's all dim beautifully - probably as they can shift into the warmer colours to reduce the light level further.

        I'll contact LIFX and ask.

        • I think you probably right.

The LED is quite power efficient in fact - there is no much of the difference if we light up a small green led using 20mA or 30mA for example.

So in electronics, most of the people only use 20mA for such a green LED rather than 30mA due to this nature of the LED.

  • Seems to be bayonet too.

  • Home kit ??

  • So temping, would save me a fair bit of effort

  • FYI this bulb still consumes energy when turned off via the app/cloud, might worth considering if you are cost savvy person.

    • I guess power consumption will be similar (or lesser) to Wemo link or philips Hue Hub…

LIFX doesn't need a Hub so the bulb has to keep the state information…

      • correct, since it doesnt require hub!
but if you only have 1 or 2 around the house, it wont add significant amount to your bill. but if you have 10+ i reckon it could add up.

  • Is this out of stock for the E27 bulbs already?

Firstly when adding the 6 bulbs, it shows up as $134.94 in the shopping cart(6 x $22.49 each) rather than $99.
Secondly, the page refreshes automatically and empties the cart.

For some reason, this does not seem to occur if you select E26 bulbs (these are specifically for USA as they are designed for lower voltages).

    • That's odd you're right. Last night the cart would refresh to $99.

  • Good deal…

Seems other IoT gadgets support Belkin and Philips out of the box but need to add plugin or tweak to get the LIFX to work..something to consider…

  • Does anyone have one spare bulb they're willing to sell?
