Best price yet for that roku streaming stick I think. Would get it but exhausted my play money on all the black friday deals.

  • Looks like they're out of stock - can't add one to my shopping cart now. Congratulations to the quicker ozbargaineers!

    • I was just watching the reviews. now is all gone? geezz

  • Have the MkI model bought to replace the chromecast in the lounge room
    We use with..

    PLEX
    Hulu Plus Sub
    Netflix US
Used with GETFLIX as our GEO unlocker
Works flawlessly only minor issue is the scroll speed of browsing movie collection in plex (5500+)
less stuffing around the Chromecast, no buffering in Hulu (like chromecast)
    Brilliant bit of tech

  • Got one of these in the bedroom and the premiere+ in the living room. Both are brilliant and have now retired the chromecasts v1 & 2. Nice find OP.

    • I got the Chromecast 2, should I switch to this? What's the main advantage?

  • Advantage is a physical remote, ability to voice search (through phone app), quiet listening and also access to Amazon video which isn't possible through chromecast. Plus access to a crap load of other channels you can't get on chromecast.

If your happy with chromecast 2 and not bothered by any of the above then just stick with what you've got.

    • Do you know if I'll get access to 9Now, Ch 7, 10play etc? Would love to use it to watch catch up TV!

      • No, unfortunately not as far as I'm aware.

  • stock are back in, price not $49 aud anymore though, $8 more expensive (just have to skip 2 days of morning coffee run)

  • Great bit of kit, especially for the money. Have two already for family members and a third on the way. Puts some smart TVs to shame with speed and ease of use.

  • Appreciate if anyone can help.
I received the Roku stick yesterday and while trying to link, I am required to create an account with Roku. I do not have a Roku account as of now.
But the sign up page gives an error "We are experiencing technical difficulties and are unable to fulfill your request at this time. We are working toward resolving the problem and appreciate your patience."
The issue exist for more than a day now and I could not find any useful article online regarding this error.
One of the article mentioned Roku support number +1 (888) 656-0804 but no one answered.

I do not have any VPN connection. Is it mandatory to have a VPN to be able to register Roku?

    • Had this issue also.

      • How did you resolve? Still facing the same error. I believe it's not a real technical fault because Roku would not likely be taking days to fix this trivial sign up issue. Probably I'm doing something wrong?

I just go to Roku.com -> account -> create account.

And the above mentioned error appears everytime.

        • Issue resolved now.
Had to be on a US VPN and then the Roku sign up page worked.
For anyone who has the same issue, I used a free VPN from https://windscribe.com/ on my PC to sign up to Roku.
Linking the device worked with normal internet without requiring any VPN.

  • I ended up using an old account I had with another Roku device I had earlier. Doesn't really help people who are new to Roku

    • Okay.. Thank you for the reply
