  • This G4 Plus has the lower camera and 3gb right?

    • +1

It's 2gb ram. Can see it in the specs tab. My partner has this exact one she bought a few weeks ago from the good guys. Definitely 2gb.

    • Link now provides the info.

    • Yes what I meant was the 2gb is not just the ram, it has the lower spec camera etc right?

      • +3

I believe all the plus versions have the same camera, independent of memory. The non-plus has the inferior camera.

    • +1

It's all dependent on the storage. 16gb/2gb ram 32/3 and 64/4

  • Xtra 10 off if its on ebay?

  • Memory
    128 KB RAM
    512 KB flash memory (microprocessor)

Huawei calls it Band, not smartwatch.

  • Any idea how small the strap can go?
My daughters got a wrist like a twig but I thought she'd love this.

    • +2

I just tested on mine. Using the smallest strap position gives a diameter of about 5cm. The strap rubber feels like it ought to be quite easy to cut another hole, and trim off the excess length, if you needed it even smaller.

How can you have a product listing with absolutely no descriptive information whatsoever.

    • +4

Trust them, they're the good guys

    • agree. Found some items on their website listed very poorly. :'(

  • what a gorgeous huawei watch.

    • +1

looks nice, sounds useless given the spec and reviews

      • Samsung Gear watch out!

      • +1

        looks nice, sounds useless

        Smells worse.

  • By all accounts, the watch is rubbish. If you wanta cheap smart-watch, get a Pebble.

    Great phone though.

    • +3

But The Peeble Is Not Round or $49…

      • Well the Pebble Time Round is round, but yeh definitely not $49

    • +2

No, it's certainly not rubbish. For the price, the watch is actually fantastic.
Pebble is far more expensive, and arguably worse looking. Obviously, its also vastly more capable too, so it depends what you want from a watch.
Think of this as a really entry-level smartwatch. It tells the time, tracks steps and sleep, shows notifications, and that's about it. If you want apps, this is not the watch for you.

    • +2

Nah, the Pebble looks ugly and too geeky.

      • You say that as if its a bad thing.

        • Ugly and geeky generally have negative connotations

Except when its the 80's… future tech awesome https://goo.gl/AJmnkA

        • @klownz:

          fyi it is 2016

        • @Gimli:

But does the B0 smartwatch have IR that can control your TV?

        • @klownz:

          Don't have one

  • Watch doesn't seem to be able to read messages or control music, bit of a dealbreaker.

    • +1

What do you expect for $49?

    • +1

I have one. It most definitely can display messages; the Huawei app can push notifications from any apps you choose.
It cannot control music. In fact, the only input it supports is for managing the watch itself (cycle through screens, select a theme, operate stopwatch). There's no capability for sending user input back to the phone.
Note that I'm using it on Android.

      • please confirm:
        1. review said only show notification (for example there is new sms) but cant show full content of the sms itself?
        2. no third party watch face, there are only about 4 of them thats all? i cant put like mickey mouse watch face?

        • +1
          1. It does show full sms content, and spans multiple screens if necessary. Some longer messages will be truncated after a few screens.
          2. Correct. Mine has 7 built-in watch faces. There are three minimalist analogue faces, one basic digital display with day of week, two odd decorative ones, and the one pictured above. The date display is fixed to US format.
        • @cobalt: thanks. Point two is very disappointing.

  • +1

Black appears to be sold out.

  • just think this as xiaomi band version 2 with bigger screen, but a bit less battery.

    • +2

      except no HR sensor

  • THANKS OP, got one for Xmas gift. I've got the Huawei Band B2, I would've liked this better…

IMO this is good enough for the price. The next step i think would be something like theGarmin Vivosmart HR, that has the wrist heart rate, and more a band rather than a watch shape my wife and daughter have one, my wife uses the heart rate for her work outs and when she goes running. The vivosmart is currently selling for $149.00 on special at JB, so 3x the price.
