  Is it worth paying for Grim Dawn? Had a quick look at the game and it looks like a game I'd enjoy (i.e. Diablo action/RPG), but if it's only mediocre I'll stick with the Diablo series and Path of Exile for the time being

    I got it as part of humble monthly. Pretty interesting, I enjoyed it more than path of exile. You form your final class by mashing 2 others together. Think of it like Diablo 2.5…

    There are also shrines which offer further permanent customisation. Haven't tried online multiplayer (except with the gf)

    Grim Dawn is Titan Quest with a crapton of improvements (and new story line / classes).

        Titan Quest is/was one of my all time Favourite aRPGs. (With Diablo 1/2 + Torchlight 2 + A bit of Van Helsing).

        Just replayed Titan Quest (Anniversary Edition) for the probably 10th time all the way through, massive game too, took about 35 hours co-op with my brother.
        Forgot games used to be that long/awesome!

    I'm enjoying it at the moment as a Diablo fan, and would suggest it's worth the money.

    The one thing that's not good is how the game explains mechanics (how crit chance is determined, that there's only 3 types of critical hits, how damage mitigation works), and you should probably watch a youtube guide on items when/if you get stuck.

    Once you get your head around that it's addictive.

    Each item slot has 3 parts to it. The item itself, a "component" which gives it modifiers, and, once you hit a high level, an "augment" which also gives it modifiers. The main campaign takes a fair bit of time, but it's enjoyable.

    To my knowledge you still have to purchase the game itself, but they have opened up more features IG for people who don't want to pay for premium.
