[PC] Free DRM-Free Copy of Limbo with GOG Connect @ GOG.com (Steam Req'd)

620

As part of their Black Friday Sale, you can claim a free DRM-free copy of Limbo if you already have a copy in your Steam account. Just:

  • log in to your GOG.com account
  • link your Steam account
  • make your Steam profile public (Click on your Profile > Edit Profile button > My Privacy Settings > Profile Status: Public > Save Changes button)
  • and then claim your free copy from the GOG Connect page.

Note: Many of you will have Limbo in your Steam library as it was given away for free on Steam back in June so you'll be eligible for this offer.

Not sure of expiry, but as the sale ends on Monday 28/11/2016 10:00am AEDT, the offer may expire then too.
Edit: Logged out and it displays a badge saying offer ends in 39 days: 1/1/2017.

Enjoy.

connected my account but it says no eligible games found…Limbo is in 'unavailable games'.

    • Said that for me as well, it's just started showing up it seems. I did a refresh of GOG checking my Steam library though, not sure if that helped or not.

Same problem here. I got Limbo for free in June. Have opened a ticket with GOG support, hope they get back to me.

      • Try installing limbo on steam first, and then gog should recognise it on their side after install. Well that's what worked for me and crumble below.

It didn't work for me either initially. I went to steam and started to install Limbo and then the website immediately kicked in and recognised it. Worth a shot … good luck! :)

      • Yeah, same. I can confirm installing limbo on steam seems to fix the issue. Cause also with me after I tried installing it on steam, it picks it up on gog side only then.

        • I still haven't installed Limbo on Stean but it recognised it based on my easing of the privacy settings (which I put back after GoG could see the Steam data).

    • Make sure "your Steam Privacy Settings & Profile Status are set to public." otherwise GOG may not be able to see the Steam data

  • Thanks.

  • Nice. I was eligible to add The Witcher also. :)

  • Third time I've used this GoG service and it hasn't detected my games in Steam, useless.

    • Is your profile on public?

      • Is that the reason? God damn it…

        • +1

Yes, see my comment above. It's quoted from their instructions on the page that they put in bold. You can always go private after it's synced or toggle privacy as needed.

  • How do you link your steam account? It can't seem to see my steam games, my profile is already public and I've joined the GOG.com group.

    • Go to https://www.gog.com/connect. There should be a big box there showing if you've connected your Steam account. If it hasn't been linked then I presume there will be an option to do so. (I'm not 100% sure as my accounts are linked.)

      • Thanks, that worked. Now Limbo shows up in my games.
