    Or packages with a different game.

      Not that I know of. You can get the standard 3DS for cheaper though.

      There are packages with different games from EB I believe, but they're average as well.

      You can try going to EB and let them know of this deal and whether they can do something else with a different game. I did that in a couple of months ago to get the games I wanted instead. They might give you the game you want as a digital copy instead but I would try adding other games as well and get a deal you are happy with.

        That would be good. Every time I've done similar they say "We can't match console bundles/deals". Congrats on getting them to do it!

      3DS or XL? This is also the "new" 3DS (That one probably is too though). Sadly it's very expensive I agree.

      thats the normal DS.

      Also US wages are much lower then Australia wages.

      Also that $99 price is misleading. It excludes tax/gst.

      Also cost of overheads and doing business here is more important.

        That's the New 3DS (not XL), it's only a $50 price difference.

        US wages are much lower on the low end because of the low minimum wage. However, on the mid-high end, wages are almost identical dollar for dollar (and therefore the U.S wages are higher because they trade favourably), and the lower minimum wage means the cost of living is also lower, so you can spend more on your gadgets.

        Tax works out to $10 USD, almost negligible.

        Cost of shipping is a moot point considering retailers order in bulk, and brick and mortar costs are mostly identical in U.S and Aus.

        Currency conversion only tacks on an extra 30%.

        The only reason for the massive price increase is the Australia tax. We Aussies get stiffed on most purchases here, many of us resent the higher cost of living compared to the U.S.

        inb4 "you pay the higher cost of living to live in a country where you don't get shot on a daily basis"

        It is a very fair comparison.

          I can't work out what "massive price increase" you're talking about. The XL still goes for US$200, which means it is more expensive there than it is here.

    So I got this on the weekend, but asked to swap the game for Pokemon Sun. I got the new 3DS xl sun & moon console with the game for $258 (I guess the cashier couldn't quite 'match' the price as it wasn't the game that was supposed to be bundled.

    Bought this deal and got the bundled game but console is now on back order with supplier and suddenly JB have no 3DS XL's listed on their web site at all. I suspect my son is not going to have a happy xmas.

        I never laid hands on it so no idea about firmware. They've only restocked black and blue consoles. I ended up cancelling the order and went to ebgames who had it in stock locally.
