Agreed that gold is miles in front in the patron range but its $140+ Not sure on other brands though mate…
In general:
Blanco / Silver / White = unaged, bottled straight after distilling
Joven / Gold = most just have caramel colouring added, good ones are a blend of Blanco and Anejo
Respado = stored in barrels for at least 2 months
Anejo = aged in barrels for at least 1 year
Extra Anejo = aged in barrels for at least 3 years
P.S. The whole worm in the bottle thing is 100% marketing.

I'm guessing you can use this instead of Kahlua? Does it taste heaps better??
Many people I know prefer this. It is a tequila base. I'm also told it is gluten free so celiacs can have this where they can't have Kahlua.
I often do a mix of both in my cocktails 🍹
@Rocket: Hrmm, interesting. I might give it a try, but using something as expensive like this to make cocktails seems to be bit of a waste. I also use red square vodka for my espresso martinis :P
@HarveySpecter: everyone's different. I prefer to use better ingredients both in cooking and to drink. I think it produces a better final product. I certainly don't use top shelf. My vodka of choice for mixing currently is Absolut.
Just make sure it's chilled.. If it's warm it's really bad!
I normally have it on the rocks but if I go to a bar and it's on the shelf I won't touch it.
Bars won't serve it warm… they'll shake it over ice and serve it as a shot. That's typically how you're supposed to drink it
If wanna score big with the missus, get this and the ½price Chocolate Connoisseur ice cream. Then slice some fresh strawberries, add the ice cream, splash some of this stuff on top… leave her alone til she's finished or ask for a hall pass in exchange for the recipe. Your call.
