Does it work on cats? :3

    • interested in the same question,

have a domestic short hair but she still sheds quite a bit of fur

    • +1

I don't think cats will like it. As a golden retriever owner, I approve this tool! He sheds… like crazy.

    Is this even safe!?

I mean … the Dyson is pretty loud, so I can't image it being switched on and then pointed at a dog/cat … with out the dog/cat running away like a maniac …

Youtube video of a successful groom please!

    • This lady says to get your pet used to it, but her dog seems pretty chill. https://youtu.be/8yVyX-5QytA

My dog would go ape shit with the high pitched whirring of the v6 handheld pointed at him.

my thoughts exactly. my cats run for the hills when they hear the vacuum

      • Lol same
        No way this would work

        I'm anti dyson now anyway.

        MIELE ALL THE WAY MOFOS

  • I don't think it's a good idea to vacuum the cat, that's just asking for trouble.

For those who are interested in one or have questions:

    • Works for Dogs and cats, of course, it does depend on how they feel about vacuums. They can get used to it if you ease into it, comb them with the tool without the machine on, feed them treats afterwards or after the machine is on so they learn not to run away at least obviously different results but it's like training them.

    • For those who own only just the Cordless range (DCxx, V6) it does fit onto the machine but bear in mind if you have to hold your pet down it will not be suitable for you as you have to push down on the tool and hold the trigger so if you fit into this category you will need at least 2 people for the job if you want to try and comb your pet. WILL NOT FIT ON THE V8 AT ALL

Otherwise, it is perfect for pets who love to be combed and don't mind the sound of vacuums, and very good price as stated in the post it's RRP $89, Dyson accessories very rarely go on sale.

    • I had the same thoughts about the V6, was thinking of picking up an extension hose which may make it easier Vacuuming the dog solo (strange sounding activity "Vacuuming the dog solo")

cheap extension hose on eBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142076180521

      • Unless your dog will sit still on its own, having the hose won't make the difference as like I said both your hands will be full, one to keep the machine on and one to trigger the groom tool.

This tool was designed for the full corded machines so for people wanting to use this for their cordless, that is stated on the box and so regardless of where people buy it, you would not be able to get a refund especially once it has been open.

  • My Border Collie goes absolutely nuts when i use the Dyson v6 would be mayhem trying this on her

  • Will this fit any vacuum cleaner that isn't a Dyson? I have a Nilfisk.

    • +1

No, it will not, Dyson accessories are not universal with other brands.

  • I ordered this last night from the previous post at $41 :(

I just purchased the last one for 33 bucks :)
