  • Price in title please.

    • Thanks!

  • Havent got one yet :(

  • Yes price - $239 or $259 (bluetooth, or bluetooth & wifi). Not sure if that's A$ or US$ though it also says A$65 off with code GOBBLE65 so maybe it's A$ (free shipping too).

    Insert Monty Pyhon-esque - What's it like?

  • subscribed, and don't have a code :(

    • I am subscribed with two email and do not have a code either.

If anyone has a spare one, can you me PM me!

  • I would love a code if someone has one that they don't need?

  • very keen on a PM from anybody who gets one that they wont use.

Also anybody with one, is the wifi unit worth the extra $20?

    • Maybe if your kitchen to couch distance is too far for the bluetooth.

      • So, the wifi option doesn't enable you to look at it over the internet while not at home?

        • Dunno, but what's it going to tell you - "Yup, still cooking here". or "Er, the cat knocked the pot off the stove". Actually I s'pose you could remote start it. Yep, that's it

          Apparently it does

With our WiFi device, your phone connects to your router and your device is available wherever you have Internet connection. This means you can cook from the office, while running errands, or running trails and come home to the best meal ever.

          From the FAQ

  • No email for me, and I'm on their list. :(

  • Would love a code too! I subscribed 2 days ago but received nothing. I'll try emailing them and see if they can still give out a code though if I can't get it through a PM.

EDIT: Oh, seems like it's active for everyone for Black Friday. It's not a big deal if I have to wait another 9 days then.

    • Where did you read this?!

The way I interpreted it is that everyone will get the $100 off offer on Black Friday but if you're subscribed to their newsletter you can get it now.

          Ahh makes sense, cheers mate.

  • Still haven't received a code in the mail. If anyone has a spare and doesn't need it, please don't hesitate to PM me. Cheers. :)

  • Hi all. Would also love a PM with a code. Been keen on one of these for ages, and just couldn't stretch it. Appreciate it.

  • subscribed but also didn't receive a code

  • On the site when you go to checkout it says use "GOBBLE65‎" to save $65.. then when you enter it it says "This code did not match any active gift card or discount. Was it entered correctly?" doesnt give me much faith that any of the codes will work

    • +1

Code won't stack with the GOBBLE65 will need to be one or the other

      • I wasnt trying to stack I used one code

        • just mentioned it in case you did. I tried stacking and it only worked for one or the other.

  • I'd love to get a spare code if anyone has one! I'm subscribed but haven't received any email from them…

  • Great device but I am a bit filthy that I spent $60 more than this a little over 3 weeks ago

    • +1

You should email them they are good at honouring the discount if its a reasonable reason.

  • I know I'm not alone here - if anyone has a spare code I would love it - perfect gift for the missus!

  • For anyone else who only dabbles in chef-ery, how useful is this device? I’ve been intrigued for a while but not sure about whether it actually is any use on a day-to-day basis.

    • +3

Super useful for a lot of things like steaks (perfect medium rare every time), and I won't eat chicken breast unless it's sous vide because it's so horrendously dry otherwise. Also great for things like eggs (esp. ajitsuke tamago and soft boiled eggs) and other things that require slow and low cooking—because you don't struggle with the temp control, the results are very consistant.

I suppose whether or not it's an 'everyday' thing is dependant on what kind of cook you are—are you the type that likes to cook, or are you the type that finds anything with more than four ingredients too annoying to tackle? If you're the latter, perhaps you should give it a miss, because it's going to sit in the cupboard. But otherwise, you're going to have the best dinner parties ever.

  • hey EC do you think maybe that email was sent to people who actually bought and subscribed rather than just subscribed?

  • -6

Looks like this elusive code does not exist

    • they are unique codes, just like the ones sent out a week ago

I have one sitting in my inbox, but waiting to see if a friend wants it prior to offering it up here

  • +2

I have a spare code. I bought one of these a few months back [BT] and if you know what you are doing with this device you can enjoy some awesome food.

First person to PM gets the code. I'll reply to this comment when it's been given away.

    anova2-47387t2d

    • Thanks, was going to wait until Black Friday but since it's here I used the bottom code :)

    • Oh gawd, I've gone and Ozbargained myself again. Just used the top code. Thanks 4thchicken.

Now to see if I can get a 'cooked till it's properly dead' effect out of that's better than normal techniques. :-)

    • Thanks, codes might be valid more than once as the top code also worked for me

    • Top Code also worked for me, Thanks

      • both codes have reached max usage :(

  • Ok, so if you're a heathen and actually want your meat 'properly cooked' - none of this pink or red inside BS, can this do it?

    • Sure, just have it at the correct temperature, around 60-70C and it should be well-done all the way through.

    • I have tried all posted codes and they are all saying. This discount has reached its usage limit. Lets hope it still works in a couple of days.

    • +1

If you want it well done then most of the time this won't help that much. You're better off just nuking it on a frying pan or microwave.

      • So if I sous vide the hell out of it then sear the crapper out of to get it properly dead, I'm wondering if it's going to be any better than doing it say seared then in the oven?

        • +1

Well unless you frequently burn your food, if you just want it well done any other traditional methods will get you there faster and much easier!
Like a well done steak? Done in 5-10 minutes! Sous vide will take you 2 hours :)

You won't have to deal with sous vide's downsides either which is: much slower, requires extra water, bags, sealing, less browning compared to traditional methods.

There is simply no need for sous vide if you don't care about the upsides which is precise control (usually means medium rare, or any other texture/temperature other than well done).

        • I like the sound of all the good things, just want my meat cooked more than the poser celebrity chefs do it on TV. :-)

        • I can confirm it gives excellent results for those that want their meat 'properly' good and cooked! I just did it 'Well Done' and finished it in a pan. Very nice.

  • anyone care to share more codes?

  • I swear, for most of the year they had this perpetual $90 off promo on Facebook, which brought it down to $159 or so… did the base price increase?

  • Dang missed out again ! If anyone has spares could you please PM me

  • If anyone has unused code, could you PM me.

  • any one have code can PM me? many thank

  • Please PM Me. thanks

    • +1

      I have a code spare..

"User Meque does not accept new conversations"

  • I'm keen on a code too if don't mind PMing or posting here. The ones above have reached their usage limit. Thanks in advance!

  • New email said BT for $99, but voucher only took it down to $139. hmmm

  • I'd love a code too if anyone has a spare. I tried subscribing after the last post. But they haven't sent me anything yet - Bought one! Thanks :)

Can anyone comment on how often they use wifi to start the cooking process? Seems like a lot of prep in the morning before going to work yeah?

  • I've been a lazy lurker, but as I wanted one of these and the codes were gone I hit up google…

This code just worked for me (found on reddit)

    anova1-748e54s8

    • Thanks I have just used it successfully also. Great find! Ended up going bluetooth only model. I don't think I'd ever use the wifi cooking mode.

      • no worries. I went wifi as there is a solid brick wall between the couch and the tv/router. wifi can get through ok, bluetooth doesn't stand a chance.

    • Bummer, it's reached its limit too :(

  • +2

Found another code on Twitter, just worked for me. Good luck!

    anova2-s679d92e

    • +1

Most definitely is, though the cable length is annoyingly short….

      • I know right! It's only like 50cm!

I bought the BT version when it first came out. Really good cooker so would fully recommend it to anyone considering buying it. Here is my code, only thing I ask is to please post to say that you have used it so save others time trying a code that has already been claimed.
