According from a whirlpool forum, there's no difference between the m3300 and m7000. Specs are the same and you can upgrade the m3300, to get HDR thorugh HDMI and much improved picture quality, with a firmware update; not available here though. It's European version so not sure about FTA channels. Price difference is a few hundred $ just for a firmware update that Australian Hisense can't provide unfortunately.

  • This TV is getting really good reviews, even against high end brands.

  • also i think another difference between the m3300 and m7000 is the m3300 is only 8bit colour but the m7000 is 10bit

    • All of the 65/70/75 m7000s are 8bit+FRC. not sure about the m3300 side of things.

  • Been hanging out to get this for a while. Sadly (for me) is that I need to use a whole bunch of JBHifi vouchers so waiting for them to hit this mark.

Lots of good info on the M7000 range here: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2511995

  • Any recommended wall mounts?

    Edit - Selby gets recommendations:

    Maybe this:

    or this:

    would fit

  • If anyone is going to Costco Ringwood there is a TCL 70 inch 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TV at the front enterance for $1xxx. Sorry didn't catch the exact price so hopefully someone can confirm.

  • Can I ask a possibly dumb question? lol

I plan on getting a Hisense TV shortly after moving house.

Now of course I wanna go the biggest one, 75 inch, but have been considering the 70" and 65" as well.

The resolution is the same on all of them. Does this mean as the size increases the quality is reducing? Or is this something we can't detect with the naked eye? Is there any reasons to not choose the 75" over the others?

There's always subtle differences between each model so it's not only the size. In theory a smaller screen with the same specs should look better from closer distances so it all depends on how far you'd like to sit. Also bigger is not always better. In some cases a 70" screen would look better in a living room that a 75". It all depends on where it's going. e.g In my case a 75 would hang over the TV cabinet a look ugly whereas the 70 is just right. Best thing to do is to SEE IT FOR YOURSELF. Goto JBH and look at all 3 from the distance that's appropriate to you and make up your mind. Take some measurements too and cutout a cardboard template at home to see exactly how it will look in your lounge.

  • FYI looked at these today in JB - seem to have a bit of motion blur or something around onscreen text placement (ie . PG rating) where the text box would have a transparent extent.

was visible on others to (pana/lg) but definitely worse no the hisense.

    • When calibrated correctly Im sure these issues will disappear for most tvs you see in the shop. Viewing tvs in JB/GG/Harvey is the opposite of helpful if you want to view picture quality.
