Nutella Spread 750g $5 @ Woolworths

160

Received favourite picks from this week's special in my email inbox and found Nutella spread 750 g for $5. However, it says $6.50 in the catalogue and website.

  • recipe: a sack of sugar, a jug of palm oil, a cup of hazelnuts and a cup of Milo powder. Blend until smooth.

    • for real though?, dang, diabetes here i come.

thank you for giving me the recipe to my demise, farewell ozbargainers.

        • @Cheapascents: It was worth it in the end.

Mind you, that end is in about 3 months.

    • Get it before the sugar tax arrives.

hmm, why not target me? instead of you? is this because i am overweight?

  • Not necessarily a targeted offer, possibly a Woolworths error. I received a similar thing about a month or so ago, can't remember the product now, but the price on the "Weekly Specials for you" email was lower than the price showing in the catalogue and the website. I thought "what the?" so checked when I was in-store the next day and the price on the yellow discount ticket on the shelf was indeed the same as in the email I received, so not sure what went on there!

    • Love when they make mistakes = free food😯

I showed a weekly specials email after buying deli product (olives) at dearer price - got fully refunded.

      • No free food on this occasion unfortunately, as the ticket price on the shelf (and the price the product scanned at) was the same as in the email, so there was obviously some sort of discrepancy between the website and catalogue price, and the weekly discount specials tickets that were printed for the store.

I did get some pawpaw for free at Coles this morning though, as the price showing on the self-service checkout fruit and veg screen was higher than the shelf price :)

        • Unfortunately not free in your case, but may help some Nuttella lovers.
          Enjoy the free pawpaw😀

I'm still using a few HUB USB fans from your Woolies deal October last year (bought at 50c each). So thanks😯

@Infidel: Good to hear the fans are still working :). I'm still using a couple of them as well.

I don't understand why all the health nuts around here, why do you feel the need to comment on every single bad for ya foods?

    • +1

Yeah all these health nuts, I keep tella-ing them to stop spreading their hateful message.

    • I don't know. There's a lot of shaming for food choices and vices that doesn't seem to extend to things like alcohol, funnily enough. It's not just here. Its been happening since forever— since they first deemed fat 'bad' and cholesterol bad it was the in thing to hate on everything fat. Eggs were bad. Oh wait, eggs are ok. Then salt is bad, oh wait, that might not be 100% true either. Now it's sugar. Now fat is OK again. It does my head in.

Everything is OK in moderation. Even Cocoa is a 'superfood' (I hate that term) or whatever.

      • ceebee,
you seem to be getting caught up in every media exaggeration.
Under the "OMG fat bad" headline, you might have found some actual facts like "excessive dietary fat linked to cardiovascular disease".
And "We don't know yet if is all fat, or certain kinds, or even a non-causal link."
Try reading the actual science. Spoiler: transfats are evil.

p.s. "superfoods" is BS. Do not read any source that promotes them.

p.p.s. excessive cholesterol in your blood is bad. Dietary cholesterol in eggs is fine. Sorry for the confusion.

p.p.p.s. 750g of sugar-fat sludge is not moderation.

        • "p.p.p.s. 750g of sugar-fat sludge is not moderation."

Sorry but that really doesn't make sense, unless you're assuming everyone eats an entire tub per day or something.

        • @Jetship:
That's getting close to how fast my kids eat the stuff. See above comments on thickness.
There is a big disconnect between the serving size in the nutrition panel, and the picture on the front.

Don't take the comments too seriously though.

  • Hi I'm at woolies now and they say they can't match this price and asked me to call Woolworths for the $5 price
