Sale on now
I need some to do an oil change so thanks!
Damn… I got off OzB for a little while, then had my phone die on me.
Missed (seeing) this deal.
I bought some Shell Full-Synthetic 10W-40W oil, 5L also came with a free 1L bottle.
Set me back $36 from Super Cheap Auto.
That was this afternoon.
Magnatec isn't full synthetic.
@JB1:
Oh ok, it makes sense now.
Full-Synthetic oils are usually a good $20 dearer than their Semi-Synthetic or Organic alternatives.
I'm ofcourse meaning 5L bottles, they're usually the cheapest/value as well.
There's nothing wrong with Semi-Synthetic (I wouldn't use mineral today) for the right application such as regular service intervals and non-track work but Full Synthetic is a better oil if your car has long service intervals or any track work.
Is it OK to change brand of oils or best to stick with previous?
Perfectly fine to change brands, weights, full synth/mineral.
Stick to the recommended weight oil for your car..
Read your manual.
Brand and semi or fully synthetic is the buyers choice.
Not really - It is depending on the age of the car. My car now has high km's. When using the recommended oil - the rockers are extremely noisy. A thicker oil is recommended to keep the noise down.
would this go best with a green salad, or is the 5w-30 a better choice?
Depends if you like it thick or runny.
Seeing as it's summer, the 5W 30 would be a better choice
I think you have it the wrong way round, people tend to go for thicker oil for the hotter months - so 5W30 for winter and 5W40 or 10W40 for summer :) Depends on your car though :)
I've heard mechanics say thicker oils for Summer, but unless it's burning oil, then stick to the recommended one, i.e. 5W30.
Not too often this cheap. Great!
Oil be there……
You just thought you'd slip that one in, eh?
Just being a bit slick
@Kangal: I wouldn't want any black looks, or feathers.
Will this be fine for my Honda 2000 Accord?
a 2000 Honda will be fine with any 5W or 10W oil so yes…..
Have always used this stuff for my old civic. Would swear by it
W is winter cold cranking index. It's kinda irrelevant in Australia.
Active now or Wednesday?
