Fisher & Paykel Vented Dryer 6kg $505 & 5kg $389 ($405 & $289 with AmEx Credit) @ Harvey Norman

90

Went to HN today to have a look at the driers.
these two seems to be good deals.
the 5kg model works out cheaper than recent deals:

the 6kg has more features and the drying rack for shoes seems to be helpful (for those in Melb).

  • This must be a bargain just like EC's post

A bad review on that site means absolutely nothing.

People don't use those kinds of sites to post good reviews, it's the place for whiners.

Even Santa and the Easter Bunny have bad reviews there.

      • Well said

  • I'd always try to get a condenser drier now - quieter and all the water gets sucked out of the clothes and goes down the drain. More expensive but worth it in my opinion. Uses less power too. A heat pump version is even better but also more expensive again….

    • energy ratings of condenser dryers are similar to vented dryers from what i have seen in the shop today. around 2 stars. heat pump dryers are like 6 stars…
i would only use it during winter in melb. and i am considering to leave it under the pergola.

  • Also on the hunt for a new dryer and was considering the F&P Condensing Dryer - ie the next model up. To my surprise HN pricing was pretty good at $829. Though it does list as 'online only' so not sure how to go about using 2 AMEX cards - perhaps a phone call.

Also - it's been a while since I bought any large appliances - I assume installation is a separate fee to delivery?

Finally - does anyone still install dryers upside down? Seems like most modern dryers have controls and displays at the top, which will mean quite a stretch if I mount.

    • I'd suggest to go to the manufacturers website and check the manual!
