  • That's a bloody good price for an excellent monitor. Pity I can't justify my desire to have a 4 monitor set-up.

    What's the difference?? .2" less?

    • One difference -different model no 24MP48HQ at pccasegear vs 24MP58HQ.

  • Would this be good for a new gaming PC that I'm building?

This uses a IPS panel — which is great for color accuracy, but it has a 5ms pixel response rate (less than ideal) and 60hz (also less than ideal). For casual gaming this is OK, but for first person shooters you will benefit from a monitor with a response time of 1-2ms grey to grey, and 75hz refresh (or even 144hz, if you can afford it).

For example, the AOC 24inch G2460VQ6 is a budget TN monitor with 1ms response with 75hz refresh with AMD Freesync support.

There is no display that is great at everything — each panel type has it's own pros and cons.

Thank you very much for the advice, yeah I enjoy face-paced FPS's so the lower response time would be a good idea.

I just went through both the video's and I think I'm more confused than when I started.

Better off spending $12 more and getting a U2414H from the Dell outlet IMO. Better colour gamut, a lot more connectivity options, and a far superior stand, plus it also has VESA support. It is also available a lot, and is a crowd favourite on OzB.

    • You sure? The Dell one has 96% sRGB, compared to the LG's 99%. Both show 16.7m colours.

      • According to LG's website, the LG is 72% RGB.

        • "An immersive work environment is ensured through realistic color expression thanks to sRGB over 99 percent and the IPS display."

          That's from here http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-24MP58VQ

        • @Mahogany Granger:

And on the same Page under Tech Specs it says 72%, same on the AU LG website. You'd probably have to dig through review sites for a concrete answer.

    • How often would the U2414H appear on the Dell outlet site?

      • +1

Quite often recently. If you search "U2414H" on here, it has been available 3 times in the last month.

        • Thanks will keep an eye on the site for it :)
I was interested in one, but wasn't sure how long I would have to hold out

      • Dell's price not brand new, not comparable. Personally I won't paid that much for refurbished staff.

  • but the U2414H is not brand new is it

That's cheap! I just bought a 24MP68VQ for $224 from MSY, the 68VQ has freesync, boarderless, DVI and VESA mount, probably a better buy.
