Not sure on quality however it seems to be a good price for a 55" 4K TV

Prefer to have a switcher as you can't program a universal remote to switch between sources as there's no discrete infra red code for HDMI 1 or 2 (at least on my 48" set)
I've never looked at it like that :)
Thanks!Happy to help people look outside the box :)
Just make sure your switcher has a remote button for each input!
Logitech Harmony can switch between my Panasonic's (Viera Plasma) HDMI ports.
Yeah same, but I have a Soniq in the bedroom that doesn't quite work nicely.
@coxjon: Ha, I didn't recognize that you are talking specifically about Soniq's. All clear now.
Stupid to have only 2 HDMI slots….minimum has to 3
Host people only need 1 hDMI. I have all my devices plugged into my AV receiver and only one HDMI to connect the AV receiver to the TV.
Most people need an AV receiver with 3+ HDMI slots.
Thats what I meant. A TV needs only 1 HDMI port if you have an AV Receiver with multiple HDMI ports you can plug everything else into.
For me 2 is fine. 1 for my HTPC and 1 spare
Refresh Rate (Hz) - 50
realy?
At that speed you're watching the cricket ball blur get bowled
Umm the uhd 7 series sony are 50hz too btw :s
Seriously complaining about refresh rate and number of HDMI ports at $700? It's a 55" 4K tv. Obviously for the price it's going to have its flaws, but for someone just looking for a bigg-ish screen at decent quality, it's a decent deal. Next best would probably be the "Bauhn 65" 4K LCD TV $799 at ALDI" for the extra $100.
This TV is so good (and big), that I can visit ozbargain.com.au on it, and when I look at jv's comments, I can even see the funny bits in them!
So how does this compare to the Bauhn deal from Aldi?
Soniq are poor quality TVs. I should have learnt from my first purchase, which had issues, but didn't.
I bought the 55" from JB HiFi for $499 in July and one of the HDMI ports doesn't work & on the second the picture drops every couple of minutes.
The picture quality itself is cartoonish - absolutely rubbish
Will never ever buy Soniq again.Want to neg you so hard right now (but i wont)
I have one in the bedroom (32"), My folks have a 1080 55" haven't missed a beat. My mate also got the same one as me, his only complaint was that it was too small…we've had no issues with them. but your experience is none the less valid.
try changing hdmi cable or get them to repair it
Nice price but 2 x HDMI probably a deal breaker :(
