This is an incredible camera and the price, for Australian stock, is several hundred dollars less than I've seen anywhere.

At this price you're in the same league as a Sony alpha 7. No negs of course! But worth considering.
Looks like dodgy digi have increased the price to take advantage of the cashback for themselves.
with the 10% off yesterday was $1999. today without the 10% $1999. RRP was different yesterday than today. gotta love retailers.

What do you guys think between this one and sony (or even lumix?) i'm after this class for travelling. Thanks
You won't go wrong with full frame - eg, Sony a7ii.
The a7ii is an amazing camera, but you would hope so for $2000 body only! A reasonable lens about an extra $500.
I'm using a m43 panny (gx1) which is not even in the same league! Having said that i got body and two lenses (prime+zoom) for about $700.
Two different cameras at different price points. The a7ii is clearly better, but much more expensive.
I have an original sony a7 and Fuji, and I shoot the Fuji 90% of the time. It's smaller, the native lenses are cheaper (and better, tbh) and the jpgs are glorious. If you're not the type to post process everything go Fuji in a heartbeat. Can't go wrong with either (or even the Lumix, really) but know that the Sony lenses are not small. It's more stuff to carry.
I will take back my words on Sony a7ii and suggest Sony a6000 series instead. This will suits better for travel :)
+1 a6000 series is a great buy.
Or if you think you won't invest in more lenses, any of the Rx 100 series would be great.
Thanks everybody i got mk2 so i guess a fuji will do (gee that rhymes!)
Fuji X series kills Sony A7 for travelling. Smaller camera and way way smaller and lighter (and cheaper) lenses. I wander around all day with Fuji X-T1, 18-55mm, 35mm f1.4 & Samyang 12mm for and it all fits in a small shoulder bag. I look at everyone else with their heavy DSLRs and wonder why they haven't made the switch yet!
I look at everyone else with their heavy DSLRs
Well the A7 series are mirrorless so they're a bit smaller than DSLRs…
Your primes are relatively ssmall anyway, 18-55, 12 and 35 are pancakes aren't they??
anyone has a good deal for 56mm f/1.2 len (Not the APD one)?
looks it has $200 cashback as wellguess i need to wait until cashback finishes before my sell my 56 then
I know someone looking for a 56mm
What's the hype on this one? I just got a 6D recently for under 1500 (canon discount) and am very, very happy about it.
Hype is it's a fraction of the size and weight and still takes wonderful images in all conditions
So digidirect increased the price before 10% sale, which expired Sunday. Now without the 10% it's still the same price! Wtf! It's like dicksmith! :(
$1999 is available until 23rd Oct. Then then goes back to normal pricing (+10%).
They have raised the price to $1748
