        • -1

OP, I accidently voted negative for your post and now I cant revert it. I am torn between this and samsung watch. I am leaning towards this though. Will decide soon. Thanks

          @chamisoft:

I just went through this recently, and I settled for the Samsung gear s2 [ CLASSIC]. This by no means is me saying get the Gear S2, but this is just the few key points to consider that i went through.

Huawei watch probably does look a lot more nicer, with a more realistic classic watch look.
Runs android wear OS, more apps etc.

Gear s2 classic looks quite nice too, and has a rotating bezel to browse. (Which was a big factor for me)
Runs Samsungs Tizen OS. Very nice looking OS, smooth maybe less apps than android wear.

So it's up to you really, if you are super keen on full functionality/app customisation etc. Maybe the Huawei is for you. I kind of just wanted a watch, but felt that for an average watch being around $250, i may as well get the gear s2 classic and have a smart watch.

          Hope this helped ishh

      • I see it for roughly 400 after the coupon? I would buy one for 340!

  • I have this watch and I love it. Even the ability to answer a call and talk through it has come in handy when I can't get to my phone in time (I used to think that would a be a useless feature). The different watch faces you can get, the applications, it's just become a part of my daily gadget needs.

Like all smartwatches, it is not a replacement for a phone or a tablet, so don't get pissy when it can't play a video as good as your tablet or run Pokemon Gol.

I've got one too, and also love it. I had the silver one briefly, and it develops micro-scratches far too easily. I've had the black for a few months, and it still looks like new. It's powder coated black, so if I do get a deep scratch, it will be quite noticeable as the silver underneath will show through; but that hasn't happened yet. Also, I only need to charge it every second day.

The software needs a bit of improvement, but that's coming with Android 2.0. I just find it starts doing weird things every now and then and needs to be restarted (e.g. notifications stop coming through) or even factory reset (the heart rate sensor light comes on randomly, even when the watch isn't being worn). My housemate has one too, and while he hasn't had the heart rate sensor issue, he has had to factory reset a couple of times due to notification issues.

I'd still recommend it as one of the best Android Wear watches on the market at the moment, especially since the new Google ones have been delayed.

    • Wow you can take calls through it? That's awesome!

How do you find the steel band on it in terms of comfort? Did you need to get it re-sized? The first (and last) time I had a steel link band for a watch it would rip my arm hairs out all the time so I stopped using it.

      • I had the motorola one with a steel band, and the band itself was not a standard band. It was a pain to get extra links, and replacing the entire band with a silicon one took sone fine cutting skills to make the band fit.

The Huawei watch has a standard band fitting, so I've swapped my and for a longer one (non metal, but it was dead easy to find a band and fit it)

      • +1

I bought a band resizing tool from eBay for $1 and did it myself. It doesn't rip hair out for me, and I'm Italian, so I have a lot of hair :P

        • Excellent, might have to get myself one of those too. Ah good to know, that's actually very reassuring :P

    • +1

Pokemon Go is coming to Android Wear later in the year:)

  • Very nice prices, is there deal you can do on the gold versions?

    • +1

Sure please message us on ebay about it, i have a team member waiting :D

  • +1

no tax invoice with GST component?

  • +5

Dont forget apply code C10AUZ for another 10% off. Becomes $292.50 :)

    Enjoy!

    • fricken awesome! it's even cheaper than the amazon prime deal a few months ago for $241USD!

      finally bought!

  • If I don't already have the LG Urbane I will buy the black one, very nice one.

  • Wow, been eyeing this for a very long time but couldn't justify the price until now especially with the code (thanks @Meque).

Now to convince the wife lol

    • +1

No worries mate! Bought one myself at this price point. Couldnt resist!

      • Haha woohoo convinced the wife just in time, I saw that stock is running low so hopefully go it just in time.

I opted for the faster shipping, hopefully it'll get here within the estimated time.

        • ha. good on you. i brought one this afternoon AND haven't tell my wife yet.lol

        • @ce5himm:dont think i can tell my wife….haha

  • I just bought but forgot to use code C10AUZ. Have messaged seller asking for help.

  • i brought the black one. didn't think about buying a smart watch before this post. after did some research and positive reviews here. hope it is a good move.

    • Where to?

  • Do you provide Australian Tax Invoice ?

    • I'm hoping there is, going to claim it via TRS

      • It'd be cheaper with the C10AUZ code anyway

        • +1

Yeah I applied the code but added the $10 faster shipping as I'm flying overseas in 2 weeks, hoping to have it before then.

Being based in NZ, don't think we'll get a GST invoice. Still a damn good price. Belive it or not, but Harvey Normans sells it for $749

        • @n00dles:

Yeah can't seem to find an ABN for them either. Would've been awesome for a double dip ^^

        • yep even without trs, the price is already a bargain. hope no issue with the product itself.

        • @n00dles:mobileciti is selling at $519 au stock. i brought three phones from them. reliable retailer. HN is always expensive.

        • @ce5himm:

so where are you bringing your three phones again?

        • @CVonC: well.not all of them are for myself.

        • @ce5himm:

          Yeah but where?

        • @CVonC:www.mobileciti.com.au

        • @ce5himm:

You're bringing it back to the place of purchase?

        • @CVonC:hi mate what do you want to say? i am telling that the watch is selling at 519 from that retailer. and it is a reliable one to me because i've brought 3 phones from them all good.if anyone want to compare with HN. that retailer is also a good one to compare.

        • @ce5himm:

yeah but where are you bringing them to?

    • We can provide an invoice no worries however we do ship from NZ and being under $1000 they are tax free

  • +1

Impulse bought the silver link version, hoping it ships quickly can't wait to have a play with it

    • Got an email today, 5 days after I bought it saying they don't have stock to fulfil my order. Won't be buying from this mob again.

      • Hope it doesn't happen to my black steel one

  • +1

Please note NO LIGHT SENSOR = squint in the sun, blind in the dark, or manually change everytime you go inside/outside.

    • There's gotta be a way to put a shortcut for adjusting screen brightness on the homescreen so it's no more than a couple of taps.
I was tossing up between this and the S2 classic, or waiting for the S3. Decided to take the plunge.

      • +1

There already is - you swipe down and choose outdoor mode or "brightness boost" its one of the quick menu options

        • Great, makes it easy. Thanks :)

  • last 3 left!

  • is it splash/water proof?

    • should carry IP67

  • Damn out of stock now. Late by a few mins. Let me know if there's anymore left

    • silver one still have 3 left. $340 before coupon

      • I want the black one. Apparently they got the black leather one as well for $300. I wonder how hard it is to get 3rd party bands

  • Waited too long and missed the black stainless steel, but bought a leather one and an aftermarket black stainless band for about the same price. Probably not as good, but still cheap.

  • Very tempted but I'm concerned over the future of android wear

    • I saw a YouTube review where the guy was saying that you can load the Dev Android Wear 2.0 OS onto it if you wanted to. So this suggests that IF and When Google releases the final version of Android Wear 2.0, that there is a very good chance that this watch will get the update.

      EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiesm1IDvnc

      EDIT2: With Commentaries https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bu4raokRxSE

    • this one will get android wear 2.0. but if new features need new hardware support like sensors, then we gona miss it on this watch.

  • Rep, any more stock of the stainless steel being released? I'm interested in this. Please let us know.

  • Google is said to release 2 new smartwatches in Q1 2017

    Source: http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/10/13/googles-smartwatches…

    • by seeing the price tag of pixel phone. i do not think those new watches will do any better than this deal. i mean yes, better specs if people want to spend 7 or 8 hundreds for a wearable. just example.

      • Mate well said :) I prefer the elegant look of this Huawei watch over any other smartwatch, with the exception of the galaxy gear s3, but given the price of that compared to this… its a no brainer

        • also i am not quite sure about the TIZEN OS. android wear should be better.

        • @ce5himm: Yeah I agree mate, Tizen is very limited, I flashed my original Galaxy Gear back to Android OS the first day I got it then rooted it. Probably with Galaxy Gear watches, is that you need to pair it with another Samsung phone otherwise its just a standard digital watch.

  • Hi Op, I bought one, wanted the expidited shipping, but forgot to select it at checkout. Any way I can organise that post purchase?

    • if you can send us a message on ebay will see what we can do!

  • Rep, any more stock of the black one being released? I'm interested in this. Please let us know.

    • +1

We only have these models left

      Black with Leather Strap
      Silver with Stainless mesh Strap
      Gold with Brown Leather Strap
      Gold with Stainless Steel Strap

      • Thanks OP got a gold one!

        • Baller! nice choice

  • i received tracking number. anyone have idea which website should i go. nz post?

    • You track it via AUS Post, I initially thought it was done through TOLL but when I randomly searched for the same tracking number under AUS Post it appeared. The Seller also confirmed to track via AUS Post.

      • got it. thanks

  • bought black with leather strap for $270 after code. thanks OP! only 5 left

    • oh wow i didn't know that one existed. otherwise i probably would've gotten that and bought a custom black stainless steel band as well!

      • Yea I don't see the leather band lasting long after taking the watch off and on all the time. I'll probably buy an easy fit band or magnetic to go with

        • I think a majority of people who missed out on the black w/ stainless steel link band will opt for this leather version then just change the band as oppose to using the leather band (although it'll act as a good backup)

  • Got an email today, 5 days after I bought it saying they don't have stock to fulfil my order. Won't be buying from this mob again.

    • that sounds not good. maybe at least offer some alternative options.

      • We did including offering the gold model at the price this customer paid for his original
Looks like something was askew with our feed we send to ebay and our internal feed, we are sorry :(

        • You offered the Gold w/ gold band or leather band at the same price?

        • @n00dles:

Yes they offered me alternatives including the gold with gold band. Not my style even though it might cost $150 odd more than other ones.

        • @1jwoz: agreed.. Gold is way too blingy
