  • AU app store?

    • The link should go to the AU site… ;)

  • I don't understand why this previously cost money on iOS but not for Android… the money is in the Anywhere Access Pack, that's the bit that costs ~$20, which I did have, but then they wanted an extra $20 for the iOS app which was free on PC/Android. Never fully understood it, unless it had extra functionality.

    • People with money buy iOS device

Simply because Android users don't spend money on average. That's just the statistical truth. Before in app purchases were everywhere, games would cost 99c on iPhone and free with ads on Android.

I don't know why it is. My Android friends will spend 15$ on a beer, but refuse to fork out two dollars for an app they use all the time, scrambling for cents in the Google survey thing. I just pay the buck or so.

      • … But $20 for a product that has the same functionality with no ads on Android for free? What you're saying is statistically true, but does not really apply to this example.

      • Few reasons actually-

-Apple charges ~$100 per yer compared to googles $30 one time For developer accounts.

-An app on the play store cant go back to paid once it is gone free thus 20¢ "deals"

-Apple users on average are more likely to spend more because they are "rich biggots"(Citation needed)

-Google's revenue models around advertisements so surveys are a mere excuse google uses to probe your life for a few cents. Whats a few cents to a multinational?
Even if they paid $1 to every human through google surveys it would still add up to ~6 billion which is nothing compared to the ~$500 billion the giant is worth.(Citation needed)

Remember guys its the 21st century data is the new gold

For remote desktop via internet, teamviewer (Free) would serve the purpose

Splashtop's claim is that their product is superior for streaming video and audio. It's not something I'm personally interested in though.

    • I beleive Teamviewer starts timing-out your session quite quickly if you use it too much (something like "commercial use expected").

  • iPad only. Not for iPhone

  • Did Splashtop ever fix the issue where they were transmitting passwords across the internet via plaintext?

Have been wary of them since that came out

Wait this allows me to play Forza Horizon 3 at work?

  • Or use free/built in VNC servers on your computer and do port forwarding for free…

Way too slow with multiple monitors (and high resolution).

Almost doesn't work if videos are displayed (even ads in flash can be really laggy).

Needs to use dynamic DNS (or static IP if ISP provides) and expose the port to the entire internet (or setup a knock sequence).

Saying that, TeamViewer is always my first preference for personal use. Commercial is a different story then.

Splashtop itself is surprisingly good for LAN video/audio streaming with almost no lag. I used it on iPad to project my computer on TV (through Apple TV) all wirelessly.

  • It's work with the same Internet connection?

  • This is just free to download right? I thought the point of remote access is that you can access the remote desktop anywhere with 3g/4g but then the developer force you the pay for this feature. I guess the only real benefit you get with the free ver. is that you can remotely access your PC with the APP within the LAN network, say your in the toilet and want to access your PC remotely. I'd rather go with teamviewer or VNC.

  • Just use Chrome Remote.
