  • If anyone here wins this, sell it straight away before anything goes wrong with it…

Lol, it's an Opel Astra in the end, good stuff. I have an older model in Italy, really good car.

I think they are fairly under rated cars.

I hope the new model is a success for them.

    • I'd drive it, but would prefer an OPC version.

I would even be happy to have a clause to say you can't sell it until 3 years later.

    • My dad has a 2005 Astra AH wagon with over 300,000kms on the clock.

I entered 13/10/ - Just received phone call for taking test drive -I declined offer

    • Made me laugh with follow up email I just received "Thanks for taking the time to make an enquiry on our HOLDEN HOLDEN that you found on Holden." It then goes on thanking me etc ..

      • -1

got the same thing, im tempted to book it for 5pm friday and not show up

        • +1

Or just don't be a dick?

        • @Spackbace:
if the email said "you entered a competition for a 2017 astra; we have passed your details to a local store and somebody will be in contact with you shortly to offer you a test drive" there would be no issues. instead, it is worded like as if i have made an inquiry to purchase a vehicle: "Thanks for your enquiry on the following vehicle. One of our sales consultants will contact you shortly."

PS. there is no need to call people names

PS. there is no need to call people names

Well, yes there is, when you actively want to waste someone's time, and boast about it on the internet. It's not something that someone with an ounce of maturity even thinks about doing, let alone actually does.

So what if the email is worded that way? It came from Holden, not your local dealership or the salesperson that has to deal with you. Don't be a dick to someone you've never even met, or dealt with before.

It's in the conditions for all Car Manufacturer competitions that your details will be passed on, and it's to be accepted that it will then happen. I didn't realise a simple "thanks, but not thanks" was difficult to do, like nvox was perfectly capable of doing.

        • @dcarbonetti:

Have any words, or just neg votes on my comments?

        • @Spackbace:
When you call someone a dick it is considered a personal attack. you could have easily said "doing that is a really crewel thing to do", but instead you chose to attack me, rather than what i am tempted to do.

As such a large company i would have thought Holden is capable of tailoring marketing comms appropriately. Is the lack of attention to detail in the marketing or the attitude of "so what' also reflected in your vehicles and customer service?

          -edit-
Yes i have words, i just have other things to do as well

Play nice and just politely decline offer.
