Make sure you sign up for a new amazon account so you don't accidentally use a prime feature i.e. Instant video, music etc

      • I used a semi New account that won't be used to purchase anything. Signed out. Any word on how long it will take to get the $15 GC?

  • If you don't need prime for the full year better to sign up for a free trial. Very little advantage to prime for an Australian as yet.

When I was doing the trial I noticed:

    • Man in the high castle could be watched on prime video
    • They shipped a replacement order by fastest possible shipping cause I was with prime (2 day international!)
    • Prime deals available 30 mins earlier than most.. maybe useful in thanksgiving sales.

They actually gave you $10 store credit for signing up for a trial earlier in the year.. I'd probably wait for another of those.

If/when they launch Amazon properly in Australia it will be a no-brainer though.

They're done this a number of times for me, it has nothing to do with prime membership.

      • Well that was the reason they stated in chat. Even less reason to get prime then.
