    Hello,
Matcha is Japanese green tea powder. You can enjoy it as a traditional tea or blend with smoothies, juices, baking, anything you want for its amazing health benefits!

    Thank you.

Japanese green tea powder is high quality, but it's also very expensive. If people want a cheaper alternative, you can often buy Taiwanese green tea powder for about $15 per 250g at your local Asian grocery or online.

it's typically less fine (i.e. you'll need to sift/sieve) it before using it.
Also the taste is slightly different, the taiwanese is typically more bitter, and less "clean" and "refreshing". That's the best way I can describe it. The price difference… Up to you if you think it's worth it.

  • Will this help stop people from staring at me? :)

Don't be stupid. This is a starer kit designed for those preparing for staring competitions

  • Which region is the tea from? Is it appropriate for koicha or is this blend mainly designed for usucha?

      Hi,
Our matcha is made in the Uji region of Kyoto - Japan.
It can be used for both koicha and usucha but I would recommend using as usucha.

      Hope this helps.
      Kind regards,

  • Don't mean to be a downer, but how is this different from say: http://tpot.com.au/product/organic-matcha-green-tea/
It's only ~$20 per 100g. I've ordered it (Should be here today) so i can't personally testify to the quality however it sounds good.

      Hello,
Matcha has many different grades and is priced accordingly. Usually there is a premium grade "ceremonial" which can be used in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony and a "culinary' grade matcha which is best used to blend and mix with other ingredients such as smoothies, lattes, baking, ect.

The first harvest of green tea leaves are the finest with very little to no bitterness, more "umami" flavour and higher content of amino acids and chlorophyll. The colour of the matcha is a good indication of quality. Bright green being better.

Our Ceremonial grade matcha is produced using exclusively the first harvest of shade-grown spring tea leaves. Our Ceremonial grade matcha boasts a fresh, vegetal/earthy aroma and a vibrant emerald green colour. It has a rich, creamy and smooth “umami” flavour with no trace of bitterness.

You can check out this post on how to identify quality matcha:

      Hope this helps.
