Microsoft Office 365 Home 5 Users 12 Months Subscription $79 (Save $11.38 off their price and $40 off RRP) @ Saveonit.com.au

200

I was searching around for Office 365 for my small business. Found this to be the cheapest deal I could find so I thought I'd post it here to save other people from having to do their own search.

From SaveOnIt

"Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium. For up to 5 Users with 1 year license. Download version, Only product key is emailed saving you the shipping. Now with Office 2016 applications included."

Comparisons

Microsoft Store $119
JB Hi-Fi $118
The Good Guys $109
Officeworks $96

This is probably SaveOnIt's normal price but according to them it's a $11.38 discount (and $40 off RRP) and hopefully it will save other people some time.

Sadly, not a solution for all needs…

very true :( MS Office is very good

    • +2

Libre was an alternative for me 5 years ago. Office has improved drastically since then though, whereas Libre still looks much the same to me.

      • +1

This is true. I remember using Word 03 at work a few years ago, and it was terrible. Got Office 365 on my personal computer, and I actually like using the Office programs now. I'm pretty sure they've stolen some of their design from other companies (Apple?), but I don't care. It's a great product now, and is FAR superior to any free alternative.

    • +1

I use libreoffice for home. While serviceable, I find it has some compatibility issues and little niggles that require working around. I don't mind doing that for the occasional home use but I don't want to affect productivity at work.

      • +1

Developers really need to get their heads together and merge the two projects. Open Office still holds the upper hand in brand name, and that's what most people install when they are after a free Office alternative but Libre Office is more frequently updated and has more community support.

Practically speaking both projects would benefit from amalgamation.

        • +1

Amalgamation would be its own beast, and set both products back months, if not years.

      Why would people downvote this?

Why does everyone (who actually uses it) complain constantly about MS Office yet hold it up as the world's premier productivity software?

It is obviously not a solution for all needs (like everything) but Libreoffice is a very good solution for most needs.

I think people are too focused on the look of software. This is why my collegues love O365 and hate MS Office '03 whilst complaining about all the rediculous stuff that Excel does.

Hmm or pay $80 each PC for Office 2013, but don't incur the yearly fee
    Here with CTEC20

    (for the OP's situation)

    • +1

Is that for 1 PC only though?

That would work out to be $400 for 5 PCs. It would take 5 years of subscription fees to break even. I'm assuming by that time Office 2021 will come out haha.

      • +1

You're assuming you get that same price each year… And I was guessing you didn't have exactly 5 PC's.

Also, you'd be surprised how little office updates matter, and how old the office versions are that some companies run.

        • +1

And I was guessing you didn't have exactly 5 PC's.

Mine are all used up…. Wish they'd change it to 6… :(

        • +4

I would have to disagree about how little office updates matter, there are many things going on all the time at Microsoft. Lots of big launches coming up soon. For example in 3 days Dynamics CRM will become Dynamics 365. Office will have tigher integration with it, depends how you use it.

Another example in the latest Onenote update for , you can now share individual pages with people who haven't got the app, they can just view the page via a web app - that is huge for me and my workflow:

          http://www.winbeta.org/news/office-mobile-apps-updated-with-…

Depends how much of a power user you are. I recently switched my business domain over to exchange online and did a two month trial, and CBF switching it back, so I will just pay the $13.50 a month or whatever to keep it going so I can start learning about Office 365 proper business version and see how the purchase of Sunrise app which has now stopped working will improve Outlook calendaring because I miss Sunrise.

        • Sorry mate, I should have clarified in my post that I was looking for 5PCs and not the Office Personal for 1 PC.

          @Hogg:

All good, was just an alternate suggestion :)

I think the home products technically state "no commercial use" in the TOS. Is it enforced? No.

    • Shhh…I am using it for home…

  • +2

First time posting a deal. Please go easy on me

OP have a read of the posting guidelines :)

    • +1

      Fixed!

  • Is it per device or per user? I got four devices at home but 3 users on main pc. Does that count as 1 or 3 uses?

    • +1

Have this sub, it's 5 users and about 10 devices total (Maybe 15). Had it installed on 9 PC's with no issues. I think you just have to activate it once per device though, regardless of the user using it.

      • What does it mean to "license it once per device"?

        • +1

Sorry, just clarified. As in, login to office with a licensed Microsoft account once on a PC, and it should activate for the others users too. I may be wrong though.

  • Better deal is msoffice university (you can get it if you have a child in school or if u are having a university email) 99$ for 4 years 2 computers

    • +1

      99$ for 4 years 2

works out $3.43 per device per year cheaper than this offer !!!

      • +1

Bought this deal and that one on the same account…became 5 licences of Office home for 5 years for $99+ $79 (+2% surcharge)…..$180!

    • Saw that deal but couldn't get it because sadly don't have access to a uni email nor have any children. :'(

  • This is probably SaveOnIt's normal price

They had it $89 last year and $82 earlier this year…

    • So it's good that it's cheaper now but…it might get cheaper?

      • Maybe if Microsoft offer the $20 cashback at the end of the year again…

  • +1

Very good :) will grab it! thanks!

  • +1

Thanks OP. I just bought this as my subscription is up soon…added 2% for Paypal or Credit Card. But I've gotta say, the sign up process and pathetic password rules, followed by manual activation(!), almost made me give up…

But a good deal, thanks for the post.

    • Yeah annoying surcharge when paying by CC. I was hit with that when I was desperate. I managed to avoid the fee when I wasn't so desperate and could wait the 2 days when paying by EFT.
I copied and pasted the code to activate.
      Glad I could finally contribute.

  • +1

It's a good deal at the current market. I normally would wait when MS offers thier $20 cashback and with this deal would be a really good bargain.

    • not sure it the cashback would apply for this deal…

  • Can this be used for a renewal?

    • My trial period expired then I used the activation key to activate and had no problems.

This product is buying a 12 month subscription so it should work but I'm not 100% sure.

  • +1

Did some searching through the normal suspects Google Shopping, Static Ice, and eBay just now and this was the best price still, thanks OP, purchased.

    • +1

      Glad I could help.

Like I was saying, I took the time to search for myself and I thought I would save everyone some time. :)
