$400- $600 Phone ASAP.

Hey Guys I was curious if there was a good deal around for a good phone for the price range mentioned in the title. Considering the 6P, and such like it.

Thanks.

Nexus 6p or Nexus 5x. This is the ripest time to buy… pixel phones are already announced.
Nexus will no longer be manufactured as Google has dropped it from their stores

        Find them yourself.

  • Microsoft Lumia 950 for $330. :D

    • Where can you get one for that price? I am regretting not buying during the recent Domayne deal

      • Official Microsoft online store. They sell for $400 for regular and $500 for XL. You can apply student discount for 10% off and bring price to ~$355 and ~$450.
Maybe cashback from cashrewards as well.

        • Thanks for that. Unfortunately the 950 seems to be out of stock

        • @bobkin: Gah, didn't realise they went out of stock.

Since everyones already mentioned the 5x and 6p then I'll mention a phone slightly more pricer: Someone posted the S7 for $777 though I know its above your price range its actual Aus stock and its the S7 phone. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/269383

I have no idea what good deals are out there for the Nexus 6P though, its actually what I'm waiting for as well :p.

    • We'll wait together. Just missed the Ebay one, lol.

    • Grey import for S7 has been so cheap, $599-665, so if I would be buying a S7 it would be grey import for sure :)

    Xiaomi Mi5 64GB/3GB for $480 :)

    • how does this compare to 6p?

      • Although the screen is slightly smaller but you get faster cpu (820) and in my opinion more comfortable hold on hand. I feel my 6P bulky and heavy sometimes.

        And you get dual SIM.

I use my 6P for YouTube watching at home because the screen size and front facing speakers :)

That's terrible news, I hope you can watch Youtube on something else soon.

        • @Diji1:

15 months to go on Optus plan, won't be changing it for a while :D

Don't cheap out, you'll save money in the long run by buying a grey import flagship now than a budget phone and having to upgrade an a years time. $600 buys you a grey import S7 or HTC 10 both really solid choices and you'll appreciate the small upgrades you receive over something like the nexus 5x and to a lesser extent 6p. I would skip the G5 since it has a few niggles such as the build, poorly calibrated display, etc. The Huawei P9 also looks great but has a mediatek chipset. I'm not sure it's quite comparable to the S820, I've heard the CPU is similar but the GPU is considerably less powerful (though performance should be similar since it has a 1080p display). The best aspects of these flagships is the software, I love stock android but none of their skins are really offensive, by comparison, I never really got along with the skins added by Chinese oems.

    • s7 or htc 10?

      • depends on prices, can u get the HTC 10 really cheap? the software on it is better than samsung phones

Depends What you want to use it for?

        10:
        - Much better sound quality through speakers and headphones, no hiss and a lot of dynamic range
        - Very well calibrated screen, almost as well calibrated as the S7 but not as bright
        - Better batterylife
        - Metal build is sublime
        - Camera has more fine detail but less sharpness and consistency than the S7 camera
        - Better audio recording
        - Front cam optically stabilized
        - Faster fingerprint sensor
        - "Future proof" but for now mostly inconvenient usb-c port
        - Faster SD card slot
        - Generally faster software updates

        S7:
        - Much thinner
        - Slightly smaller
        - Class leading Amoled display in brightness, contrast, calibration, whitepoint, etc
^ Generally more efficient when screen intensive task
        - Camera more consistent and faster focusing
        - Waterproof
        - Glass build is perhaps more flashy
        - Curved back is super ergonomi
        - Conventional micro-b port
        - Touchwiz has more features at the cost of optimization and bloat
        - Faster internal memory

  • I'm considering this HTC
