Looks like a good deal for this 70" TV, I've found the Hisense TV's look quite good for the price point.

Pretty much same price as the in the Bing Lee eBay sale. Probably more widespread availability though.
Probably an amazing deal but I can't bring myself to spend that much money on something that's not a decent brand
…but supposed to be the brand of a decent TV. 3 year warranty, even before you go chasing ACL. Generally positives reviews/ratings.
what'syour ccriteria for decent? Considering hisense warranty is longer than any other
One that when people walk in your house, they don't pin you for a tight arse that couldn't afford something better?
They are a brand rapidly on the up, for what that's worth. No shortage of poor quality tv's by the bigger brands with lower warranties than Hisense. My Samsung has had 3 repairs needed, my mates Sony totally died. Brand reputation for customer support indeed does matter a great deal though!
Aside from a bit of clouding in very dark scenes that I almost never notice (and was there from day dot) my 65 inch Hisense is going on strong coming up on 5 years as of new years day. Bought it for about $2300 at JB Hifi. I'm at the point now that I wish it would cark it so I could justify the purchase of a new even larger UHD set LOL. First world problems.
Just sell it and upgrade to this?
I have a 50" UHD hisense that I got for like $850. Its great for the price, especially for netfkix and youtube.
Im no picture guru but during the Bing Lee ebay sale, I seriously almost pulled the trigger on the 75" for 3k. 70" was $2400.Lucky i went into JB hifi to check it out. I would say the SD picture is pretty awful, very soft with lots of artefacts. Hd was a noticeable improvement but still not mind blowing but the 4k stuff was mind blowing and comparable to the big guys offerings.
My gut feel, if you have a 5-10 year old tv the difference will blow you away. 1-5 years and you'll be happy but not over the moon.
I have calibrated my LG 55LM7600 which is 4 years old and the picture knocks this out of the park (except in 4k of course). Plus i really like the magic remote for smart tv netflix etc as opposed to a traditional remote which this has.
So the money stayed in my pocket for now, I dont have a 75" tv but hey my picture is crisp even in SD free to air.
Over 2k in price you have to settle for some compromises. If it ever drops below that it will be a great buy for the average punter.
How about banding/DSE? Highly recommend anyone considering a new TV to take this video in store on a USB: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRGUkxrwdeU
Tried it on 770 and 950 LG sets and the banding/DSE was very obvious. Really think it is worth spending a bit extra and considering the Samsung 8 and 9 series - they exhibit minimal DSE issues and have nice deep blacks. They are quite expensive at about $3700 for 65" KS8000, but at the moment you can get 36,000 Virgin Velocity points and a $300 cash back at Good Guys, so maybe put that towards a sound bar. This might not be a huge issue for everyone, but I found it too distracting on the LG and was not willing to put up with it for 5+ years.
Would love to hear some thoughts on this Hisense though? Looks like good value for the size and features.
I am also looking at KS8000, but not willing to spend more than $2,000 for the 55" one. Apparently, the Hisense Series 7 got quite good review except for the HDR which does not have enough brightness to bring HDR to life. Waiting for Boxing Day sale to see whether my target price can be hit.
LED LCD suck.
Blanket statement of the year.
A technology that 'died' 4 years ago (plasma) is still superior in most regards to the current LED LCDs. That's justification enough.
OLED is fantanstic, the brands selling LED LCD are taking the piss though. Most of the non-branded models are even worse.
This TV keeps getting cheaper. PQ is fantastic from what I've seen in store. Must..not..spend…!
