    So I got order confirmation email at 10:11am (Sydney time) and received both codes in email at 11:27am

    As per previous post I bought both Standard game and VIP pass for $29.98USD, did not use a VPN, paid with 28 Degrees MC and entered fake US address and phone number from http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/

    So some lucky people may still get codes

    I also got the main game cancelled and the VIP code delivered (which I have not redeemed) with the adjusted price of USD14.99. As with others I felt that the VIP code should be refunded or the main game reinstated as the VIP is pretty much useless otherwise. Went to try Target Chat but after initially queueing it bombed out saying everyone has busy and to call - so I did. After a short time on hold I spoke to someone who took 4 goes at getting my order number right, then asked for some confirmation details (so know your address if you used a US one!). I said that as the VIP was useless without the main game I wanted either the cancellation reinstated or a refund. Was immediately offered the refund of USD14.99 back to my credit card without any argument. Sounded like I wasn't the first to be offered this so would suggest the direct approach might be the most successful. I was told I would receive a confirmation email but yet to see it. Will keep you posted.

        I called the US number directly but as mentioned I am yet to see any confirmation. If they were spinning BS then I will be doing a follow up call then if no joy will pursue a credit back via credit card.

          @DanielR: Actually I used a Citibank Plus which came in a touch over $39 which is what is still pending so waiting to see what happens. Long weekend probably won't help.

      Just an update. Didn't receive a confirmation email so gave them a further call. Got a different person who said the refund had definitely been processed back against the credit card. Will keep an eye on it as it probably won't process in bank for a few days. May possibly lose out in transaction fees somewhere, but such is the risk of a deal now and then. I've saved more on Ozbargain deals in the past than I'll lose here. Who knows, perhaps I'll get a refund and still have a valid VIP code…

    I bought the standard game initially then went back on and did a second order and bought the standard game and the VIP pass together , I didnt know about the VIP pass when I made my first order. My first order was cancelled later by Target but I got all of my second order. So Standard game and VIP are installing now .

    Well my order was cancelled however I received the VIP code which I already redeemed. Called target up to complain and they offered me a $20 gift code so I'm just going to use that towards the base game.

          I called. Didn't get offered a discount, which I probably would have taken and put towards the base game - but they did offer to refund the money from the VIP Pass which I am to take them up on - I know it was all a mistake.

          @bagomilk: I kept on hassling them on chat basically asking for a refund to my VIP pass if they couldn't honor my gift card or original purchase price. One support guy agreed to issue me a $20 refund if I went ahead and purchased the game, which he honored.

    Ordered both, received cancellation on the main game. Looks like I was about 10mins too late, judging by some peoples' order times. Might see if they do anything over the next 24-48hrs.

    I just called. Apparently they will be sending out an email soon with information on what happened and what we can do about the VIP passes. I am tempted to hold onto mine and just keep it for when I can get the game a bit cheaper than $100 aud. Hopefully they are going to offer a discount code of some description. Microsoft has completely ripped off PC players in all this.

    Spoke with online CS. Kind of funny how they will lie about being out of stock. Some of the reddit guys have had luck getting vouchers or honouring the 20usd price.

      It so weird here.
      I remember when people asked for Microsoft $25 voucher and i gave around 8 codes to the ozbargainer, they gave me thumbs up.here
      Now when i need this code and asked for it i am getting down vote. Crazy world.
      It's not always about money, if it was i would have sold those Microsoft voucher on ebay or gumtree. It is about ozbargain community so i asked for. Sorry for those who down votes.

        Eh? Bit different here. On that deal it cost you nothing to sign up for multiple free vouchers.

        In this case, to get a code someone would have had to actually bought the game.i doubt very many would have bought multiple copies, unless they were skeevy eBay resellers, and most people who did buy these codes probably had their order cancelled.

    In the email confirmation this morning it says:

    Your card will be charged at the time that each item is shipped, picked up, or emailed. Prices are also confirmed at these times

    … it also goes on to say:

    We do not confirm item price or charge your card until your order ships or is picked up. This order acknowledgement email simply means that your order request has been received; it does not mean that your order has been accepted, shipped, is ready for pickup, or that the price or availability of an item has been confirmed

    Which means they should not have charged my card according to their own policies.

      I think it puts the charge in a holding pattern until authorised - if an item is cancelled it should adjust that charge. I see a pending charge of $39.18 because 1 of the items was delivered I am expecting that to be half that amount. - also target are offering credit of $10 for those that have been incovienced. I will probably use that for the purchase once my CC has been sorted

    I called the service center multiple times trying to get the game honored at $20 (my VIP pass went through), each time speaking with someone different. I managed to get through to a guy who was about to reinstate the order and honor it, but then disconnected! Typically my luck :(
    Eventually I was transferred to a supervisor on my last call who wouldn't budge, she immediately refunded the VIP pass and said I could keep the code (I wouldv'e preferred to leave it active so I had some negotiating power)
    There is no consistency across that call center, it's a lucky dip how they process you.
    Good work to those successful, I was actually shopping around for this game prior :(

    I spoke to them online, and apparently they will be contacting people via email individually as this was a major issue for them due to a pricing error on their side - I only have the VIP pass, the game at USD $19.99 was cancelled. So hold tight… let's see what happens…

        No deal - basically the best I could do was to get them to cancel it as they wouldn't honour the original price but were only willing to credit $15 (so repurchase it for $44.95) - but I already have the email with the Forza 3 VIP validation code, so I assume that means that I can still use it?

    After failing to get a reply via Twitter I was able to get to a PC to use the online chat. They refused to budge and were quite dismissive about everything. After I pushed they told me to call the 1800 number. I did that, the operator immediately refunded me for the VIP pass and then offered a $10 voucher as compensation which I happily took.

I rejected it and she said she couldn't help me, I said I would do a credit card chargeback since they had screwed me around and now she's getting a supervisor to see if they can do something for me.     I, like many others received the VIP pass but not the game. Contacted them via online chat and was given a refund (US$15). Didn't want to take the risk of getting a US$20 gift card which may or may not work in purchasing FH3 (I've heard some people have problems with purchasing FH3 with the gift card).

      I can confirm that the gift card will unfortunately NOT work with buying a digital game code, contrary to what the previous customer rep assured me.

        Can confirm this too, it is not working I tried to trick it by adding an item for $1.99 with the purchase and no go, still did not work.

        Contrary to what the customer rep told me when he provided $15 of codes, I cannot use this to purchase the digital copy, also tried to purchase a $25 Microsoft Card, that didn't work either.
