Tips on How to Save on Foreign Currency Conversion Fees

Hey guys, I'm always buying cheap stuff from round the world on ebay, aliexpress, and sometimes going overseas. And I notice quite a few currency conversion fees. I bank with NAB and use Paypal when possible.

Isn't there a bank card or something you guys always mention using?
Can someone explain it simply to me!
Thank for the advice!

Cards with No Overseas Transaction Fees

Open a Citibank Plus account if you want a Debit Card
Open 28 Degrees if you want a Credit Card

If paying for say something from overseas (say US) and have the choice to pay in USD take that option and use Citibank/28 Degrees as they will (usually) give you a better exchange rate, than Paypal.

    • but then i want have paypal coverage, correct? so any other website then ebay, like aliexpress etc..

You can still pay with Paypal, you just need to change to local (overseas) currency.

  • do citibank / 28 degrees have monthly fees? which is better? thanks in advance

      See link on.

28 Degrees is a Credit Card, you will need to do a credit card application , which will be assessed. Application may not be approved.

Citibank is a Visa Debit Card - You use your own money.

28 degrees started charging a 95c fee if you pay off your credit card using bpay. But you can always use direct debit, or use their online centre to pay the credit card. More details here
      Otherwise, no-free.
