Coffee 250g Packs for $2 (Was $4 or More) - Brand The Fabulous Food Company @ Target - Cessnock NSW

120

Years ago I drank sugary white coffee. The sugar increased to 3½ maximum-heaped teaspoons until the cup's content approximated 24% sugar. One morning I awoke knowing I had ceased the habit and began drinking black coffee without sugar. Which was an unusual drink in 1973. Twice, workmates made me a "normal" mug of coffee thinking I was joking. One asked if he could watch me drink it black, and did so.

The concept of paying perhaps 1,000% more using pods, capsules, and machines with scary Italian names is therefore unconscionable to me. My stepson made me a mug recently - it was fine, but I barely resisted saying "we are indoors and this cost nearly $1".

Today, Target had 6 different 250g packs of The Fabulous Food Company coffee:-
Aussie Grown Ground - Australian Single Origin (best before 09 Dec 17)
Aussie Grown Beans - " " " " " "
Urban Blend Ground - Fairtrade & Organic (best before 18 Jan 18)
Urban Blend Beans - " " " " "
Café Blend Ground - Rainforest Alliance
Café Blend Beans - " " " " "

I only purchased 1 each of the 1st and 3rd, as I have several kilos to get through and I try not to go over $5 per kilo.

Sadly, this is not much use with a $2,000 Morezzinato Luxinello Intimidatore Turbo Nutter Bastard Ghia 4.3 Deluxe.

Soon, I may post a deal for a Disturbinator Franticolio Anticipatore Quattrovalvole Mk III elite, with a go-faster stripe. The coffee shall of course be reasonably adequate dinkum.

I know it's only $2 but have you tried which one tastes better?

Sorry, not yet. Here is what the packs say:-
      Urban Blend Ground
… high grade 100% Arabica beans sourced from Ethiopia and Peru. The result is a medium rich roast flavour, a roasted peanut aroma combined with soft caramel and milk chocolate notes. This coffee features a syrupy mouthfeel and an outstanding citrus winey aftertaste.

      Aussie Grown Ground
… premium 100% Arabica beans sourced from growing regions in New South Wales and Queensland. The result is a medium rich roast flavour, a sweet and nutty aroma and unique citrus and blood orange notes with a smooth chocolate aftertaste.

Both have a strength rating of 3 out of 5.

So the.normal price of this ground coffee is $16 per kilo - got to admit I have ever heard of them

Generally wait up till one or the other of the supermarket chains has a price war in coffee beans and swoop on the Lavazza whatever

Happily these go in my Delonghi as it has a flux capacitor that can handle the whole beans

Well, that's a relief. I may return for a few more to keep the supply going.

  • While dusting off the flour I rolled her in earlier, Nurse told me I had been very good indeed today and may return to Target. Which is how I discovered these packs of coffee are now $4 again. Somehow I doubt that price will be permanent.
