  • Going to Japan at the end of the year. Is it better/cheaper to wait til then and buy from Uniqlo over there?

    • Yes

Been to Uniqlo in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan. The prices are mostly the same as here in Aus, perhaps ~$5 cheaper for some things.
Probably won't find it as cheap as this, unless of course it is sale time there too.

Keep in mind sizing in Asia is slightly different than the western market - for me anything with long sleeves in the Asian stores ends up being too short but short sleeves and trousers were fine.

      • I'm a small Asian girl so I think it'll be okay. Thank you!

    • I went to Japan last year (and going at the start of next year), and I was bitterly disappointed to find that the sizing was quite different. I'm a guy with medium build and in most shops, apart from the American retailers (GAP, American Eagle), their largest size would not fit me properly (I think it was double XL). The upper arm area and chest area were just too tight. It might just have happened more to me though since I did try to buy from local shops often.

      • Oh damn! My boyfriend is a Medium/Large build depending on the brand here. Guess it's best for him not to buy clothes there.

I wouldn't tell your boyfriend to completely lose faith in buying clothing in Japan. Just be wary of the different sizing they have over there. Don't do what I did, which was take the "I'll buy a lot of the clothes that I'm going to use in Tokyo, in Tokyo" approach (if that makes sense, wording is a bit off). There is nothing wrong with buying from some of the American retailers, and it seems that there were always sales on too (ontop of the tax exemption), but I was just bitterly disappointed when I went into Shibuya 109 Mens and nothing would fit me properly :/

Some items in Japan are cheaper than Australia, but normally from multiple visits to Australia and Japan the price is close enough to just buy in Australia and not fill the suitcase.

Also http://www.uniqlo.com/jp/ works for Japanese pricing, i would use the Australian site when in Japan to compare prices.

The main item i found thats cheaper in Japan is the down jacket, got it for about $40 cheaper in Japan.

      • I heard that Uniqlo has crazy prices in stores when on sale. Would it show up on their website as well?

    • I used to live in Japan, sizes are different, quality is exactly the same. From my experience the prices are cheaper, but it will depend on exchange rates considering how bad the Aussie dollar is.

    Any other colours?

What's with the red dot on it?

    95% cotton, 5% cashmere

    • If you're looking for 10% cashmere for $29.90

but I agree, these majority cotton blends don't compare to 100% cashmere. it was $60 on the last sale for 100% cashmere

  • Note:

"We cannot process refunds in store for those purchases made with Paypal. We do apologise for any inconvenience."
"A $7.00 return handling fee will be deducted from the refund amount when you ship your return."

Refunds would have to be done by post if you pay be Paypal, which has a $7 fee.

  • What kind of man wears cashmere?

    This is cotton.

    • the rich and confident, "comfortable in your own skin" type.

    • +1

I don't think they should be able to call cotton cashmere. Cotton cashmere sucks. Wool cashmere is where it's at. (Or even just merino wool).

Looks like a female jumper… I mean I'd wear it but still my view stands.

    • I think you need looseness in certain places for that and the picture is of a male.

      • A male with eyebrows plucked and also wearing lipstick

    • It's targetted towards asians imo.
They tend to wear very stylish clothing compared to the average aussie bloke.
