Balco 3D Printer $449.10 Delivered from DickSmith.com.au (Kogan)

20
BALCO3D

Not as good as the other expired deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/260996

The Balco 3D printer is equivalent to a Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2.1.

Also worth noting that I spoke to Winplus (Australian distributor for this printer). They also supply the Cocoon Create printers previously sold at Aldi. They currently have some refurbished Cocoon Create (Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2.0) printers for $399. Which includes delivery, 1kg of filament, 12 months warranty. You can get the v2.1 upgrade kit from them for $20: https://www.cocooncreate.com.au/shop/accessories/cocoon-crea…
To purchase the refurbished printer contact Winplus: http://winplus.com.au/contactus.html

Me personally I'd spend the extra $30 and get the machine with the upgrade installed (Balco 3D printer/this deal). But if you have the time then there's a cheaper option. Here's the upgrade instruction video: https://youtu.be/3lrUFnG6qWI

Alternatively hold out for another eBay/Kogan discount…

I got a Balco printer from the deal mentioned in the first line. I have to say customer support has been fantastic.

Palm on Face! I've just realised it cheaper using the current eBay promo: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/266576
Although the eBay promo ends tomorrow…
I don't know. I'll leave it up to the mods.

Was about to say, only $424.15 from Dick Smith or Kogan eBay stores atm :)

      • maaan, there are so many 3d printers on ebay…any reccomendations? Doesn't have to be pre-assembled, I'm willing (or even interested) to put together a kit.
edit: nvm just got a tarantula

        • Cancel an get the Black Widow https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/266660

        • @Unbreakable:

It's my first 3d printer, and I don't care too much about build volume for what I'd be printing. I also have an alternate hot end which I bought a long time ago (without even having a 3d printer to use it with ??? silly I know) so the upgraded extruder doesn't net me much

The kit I bought is less than half the price of the black widow including shipping…sorry, I can't justify it

        • @drojf:

Yeah look at less the half price for the Tarantula is quite good, and all the other reasons are more then valid, i guess i'm just excited about my purchase.

I don't know how similar this is, but the Wanhao had a recall recently:

    • The 'recall' was a suggested user fix from over a year ago.

  • How about FLUX 3D printer that was on Kickstarter two years ago? You can buy it now and it looks pretty decent to me.

  • So what have you guys done with the 3d Printers that you've bought?

    I have this one.
Its OK but a pain in the butt to level the print bed.

    • u have photos of your 3d masterpieces or still leveling the print bed?

      • I mainly print car badges, which get chrome painted. I dont even have photos of myself or my girlfriend, let alone lumps of melted plastic, lol.

I'm sorry but except the price how is this deal better then my deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/266660

EDIT: I mean smaller print area, build quality, no community to speak off.

  • Not trusting crap from k/Bogan

  • Bought this at $399. Works great no complaints although yes, you do have to level the print bed but that takes me 5 minutes now, and you have to adjust the temp properly to avoid some stringing but I believe adjusting temps is a problem with most printers?
