  • that means, I will have to pump at least 50L to offset the extra $5 spent..

    • +2

      I like fuel vouchers… 150 litre tank(s)…

    • No, you have to remember it's only an extra 6c saving so you need to get 83.4L to completely offset the extra $5.

  • Can it be combined with source mastercard 4 cpl coupons to get 14 cpl?

Normally I can get 10 cpl (4 cpl (coles docket) + 4 cpl (source card coupon) + 2 cpl (coles express purchase).

    • Yes it can

    • they flatly declined the combination of 4c + 2c express store + 4c source card for many years. either 2c express store discount or the 4c source card coupon as they said to me.

      • Yep they did but this changed 6-12mths ago

      • I do that all the time, to get 10c off.

  • +1

don't you hate how coles express stations usually cost 3cpl more than the BP/mobil/independent within a 2min drive?

    • Yes, Unless a woolworths-caltex is located nearby

  • When is the best day to fuel up anyway?
There is a Mobil where I live, and sometimes they have excellent pricing on a Sunday afternoon, or Wednesday morning !#@$%???

  • These fuel dockets are stupid. I fill up at Mobil or BP and they are often cheaper than what it would be at Shell with the dockets.

  • This is a pretty sweet deal. 10c off per litre of LPG yields a discount of around 16% with current prices. The $5 of items essentially become 'free' when the 4+6c offer is used for buying 50 litres.

    • +2

The $5 becomes free when you put in 83.3 litres. Given that you were going to get 4c/L off anyway, the $5 spend in store needs to be offset by 83.3 litres (83.3 x 6c = $5).

  • I'll be needing fuel again around the end of the month, thx.
If I decide to buy a combo of milk/bread or the paper at the servo its easily $5.
The savings great when combining a LPG/Unleaded purchase.

  • Actually, don't you have to get 83.3 litres of fuel to get your $5 back as you are spending $5 to get an extra 6 cents a litre off?

  • +1

i buy milk & bread there anyway, so good deal :)
Also dont forget you can use your flybuys card at shell

  • Don't they always have this in store?

  • Thanks for the heads up. Now I am off to check out the coles catalouge to see what is on special

  • I dunno doesn't seem that good for the average car… you need to buy something for $5, and do your shopping ($30+) at coles when not everyone shops there.. print this voucher and present, very nice 10c save but for an average car… you don't seem to get that much of a margin.

but obviously for the non average people this is a great deal +1

  • Just thought of something, hope someone can answer it. Just say i filled up my car, then i filled up my husband's car straight afterward with the same hose, would they honor the 4 c + 6 c in store offer? or that is considered as two transactions?

    • i was told it's per car

    • If you don't hang up the bowser i don't see how they can differentiate it. They might be an ass and deny any discount at all (but i dont see how they could, unless the 4c off vouchers explicitly forbid it), but i think that's a nice little trick if they are both near empty.

  • +3

shop at aldi, and you'll save more then any fuel discount

    • unfortunately, you don't get much choice at Aldi…

  • I always get 10 cents off using the Coles Mastercard…

  • Good one- like fuel offers

    • Great deal considering it also available for gas.

Any other ozbargainers use LPG?? Ive got it in my personal camry, and in the work 58 seater. Runs like a dream and cuts the fuel bill easily in half.

  • I don't really understand how ozbargaineers could shop at a service station.
I normally buy bread and milk at discounted prices elsewhere.
I would NEVER buy anything at a service station, they are a little like corner deli's or airports.

    Major, major Positive for me

    • Coles express accept vouchers for LPG
    • Coles express accept amex, which means 1.8% back in points for me on my altitude platinum
    • Coles express give fly-buys points, which means about 0.1% back in points or something like that (not that good really)
    • Coles express sell metrotickets in South Australia, which means your $5 in-store can be an essential item that you were going to purchase anyway!
