Are the QuitComforts as good as the QuietComforts?

    • +7

i hear they are even better!

      • +4

I like the sound of that

    • -1

I think the quitcomforts have protruding metal spikes…

  • +1

    Nice find.

  • +1

Really wanna pull the trigger, having the qc25 now for about 10months now. should i sell it and get the QC35. Any ideas guys?

    • +1

the sound are identical, the only different is wireless.

      • I like the recharagable battery its convenient

        • +1

If you have QC25 you can carry some AAA batteries in your bag and never be left short, if you have a rechargeable battery (QC35) you might find yourself without a means to charge (say at 30,000 feet).

        • +2

          @Drphods:

I get like 20-25hrs out of my set, it also tells you battery percentage when you turn them on, you would have to go a long time without power to stuff up charge cycles!

        • +2

          @Drphods:
1.many aircrafts now do have a usb port where you can charge your earphones
          2. you can still play music on the QC35 even with a flat battery if you use them wired(no sound canceling though)

        • @giBzoR: Fair call. By the way I bought a pair of QC35's 2 days ago. I figure, I also carry a powerpack which can charge them up if they run out.

        • +1

@GregFiona: Very good point. I just flew to USA and all 6 aircraft had power via USB.

      • The sound is not identical. The driver used may be identical, but the QC35 has a much better (imo) "default" equalizer profile. So technically you can eq the QC25 to sound identical to the QC35, but that's probably pretty hard.

    • +1

Did some reading, if you're attuned to this kind of stuff, apparently the QC35 has slightly less "tinny" sounding mids versus QC25.
Other than that - 20 hour per full charge, and wireless.
      And they look great.
Also means it's easier to work out/exercise without a line flying everywhere.
I sold my QC25s for about 250~ (1.5 years old) in order to upgrade.

      • +5

I always think it looks a bit silly when people work out in headphones like this

    • +4

Once you try wireless headphone, you can't go back to wire.

And the battery so far is really good.

      • thanks guys, these really encourage me to upgrade!

        • Agree with all of the above, great set of headphones and the wireless is great. I also traded up from QC25 to QC35.

Only issue with them is noise leakage, it doesn't annoy me, just everybody else!!

        • @Izzyhop: how much did u sell ur QC25? just wanna see the idea

        • +1

@Bigbabo: sold mine for $270 a month ago, bought them in May 2015.

  • Very tempting…

I have the QC20i at the moment and love them, I do a fair bit of travelling for work so they get a workout.

Got a big OS trip planned end of year so thinking of waiting till then, hope there is 15% 60 days before I leave and then claim the 10% #winning

What are QC20i's going for on the second hand market?

    • Please tell me more about this '10%'?

      • +1

GST refund when you go overseas

      • +1

        claim for GST refund

        • Thanks so much, you just saved me another $40! As long as I don't miss my connecting flight..

        • @raduf: though when you come back into Australia, technically, you will need to declare it. Therefore paying back the tax

        • +1

          @eruption:

You only need to declare it again if you're over the Duty-Free threshold (i.e. $900 per traveller)

        • @ATreeFiddy:

          correct.

    • +1

If you want to sell you QC20i, do it quick as the QC30 is coming soon.

      • Really torn on this. Will wait for reviews. How long does the battery theoretically last for (as in life) on the 20s and can you get it replaced at some point?

  • -1

only problem being the bacteria that accumulates in your ears greatly increasing your risk of deafness

Got a Silver pair from JbHiFi for $399.20 on Sunday, used this reciept that was put on Whirlpool from Myer :)

Anyone know if ebay invoices are valid receipts for TRS refunds when leaving AUS? i presume it should be OK?

    • If a seller registered for GST, they must provide a copy of tax invoice. Otherwise, ATO will kick their ass.

    • If it has the retailer's ABN on it should be fine. Most of the PayPal/eBay receipts I've seen don't though.

    • You have to ask the seller for the tax invoice. So contact the seller first, see if they can provide tax inovice. if ABN and GST are listed, it is fine.

      • Awesome, Looks like I just got these for $362.60 then :)

    • Just to confirm that yes they do provide a proper tax invoice for TRS purposes. Has all the required information.

  • My brother wants wired ones. Anyone have any idea where i can find them? I only seem to see the wireless ones being sold

    • Search for Bose QC25, 35 is only wireless.

      • Oh, i thought the 35's also had a wireless model.. That's hat he seemed to think anyway.

        • you can plug in the cable if you want the 35 to be wired. :)

    • All QC35s are capable of being wireless but they also come with a cord, meaning you can plug them in if you want

      • Ahh that's good to know! Will let my brother know that these should be a good pair for him! Thanks! :-)

  • Great deal, I took the plunge as I'm going overseas anyways.

  • Thanks for posting this. Been checking every day for a decent discount on the QC35 or QC25. Bit the bullet and bought these bad boys… also heading overseas so hoping the get that TAX receipt. :)

  • Sorry if this is a daft question, but don't you have to choose Android or Apple version?I just did a mock purchase and there was no drop-down or anything asking which version I wanted to buy, any thoughts?

    • Not Android or Apple version specific. They pair with bluetooth which both use

    • Pretty sure for the QC35s, all the controls are on the headset, not inline and work with both Android and iOS.

      • I could've sworn I read that there was a version which controls apple devices and a version which controls android devices, I stand corrected.

        • +1

thats for the qc25, qc35 works with both

        • @Score: thanks.

I had the Beats Studio Wireless headphones, just swapped over to the Bose QC35's.

    1) Comfort - After 1 hour using the Beats my ears hurt like hell, no problems with the Bose.
    2) Sound - No discernible difference from what I can tell. potentially the Beats are a little louder and have slightly better bass (But I'm not sure).
    3) Noise Cancellation - Bose at least 50% better at cancelling out background noise.
    4) Connectivity - Annoyed that the bose uses a 2.5mm cable, rather than a 3.5mm.

Agreed, once you go wireless you can't go back. Awesome headphones all round. The comfort is the biggest benefit to me.

Wireless headphones work on both IOS and Android without issues.

    • Thanks for the comparison!

      • +1

Ahh yes, forgot two more important things.

Battery Life - Bose has a far larger wireless and wired battery life. Beats only gave me about 5-7 hours of wireless battery life.

Bluetooth connectivity - Bose has a better all round bluetooth system, It actually tells you what you are doing (using a voice). Also it allows you to connect TWO bluetooth devices at the same time and easily switch between them. This is an awesome feature.

    • So did i, i returned the Beats were so uncomfortable and i was having problems connecting to my iMac, no problem with the Bose and my iMac/ipad/iphone and Samsung Tv.

  • NOTE: the code CODE15 can only be used once per each PayPal account. The maximum discount you can get is $300.
e.g. If you used the code to purchase the Bose QC 35, you can't use the code again to purchase another items unless if use the code with another PayPal account.

  • Can someone please confirm if this comes with a tax receipt ? Tried to message the seller but no reply.

    Cheers!

    • +3

From what I have seen thru our transactions on Ebay as a seller and purchaser, unless the dealer issues a separate Tax Invoice, the normal Paypal and Ebay receipts do not satisfy the Customs & ATO Tax Invoice requirements. We have already been thru this with the ATO!

At Pacific Hi Fi we address this by issuing a separate Tax Invoice that we send with the goods, whether you purchase thru our Ebay Store or our own website.

I am sure that if you ask, Ofeonline would do the same for you.

    • +2

I've just received a reply from the seller after purchasing saying that he will include a tax invoice. If you do purchase it, send him a message to confirm that they will send a TAX receipt with it as well just to be safe.

    • +1

Received mine today and can confirm I also received a tax invoice.

    • Received mine today and yes it does come with a proper tax invoice. I did left a message with the seller to include it with the delivery.

  • Anyone had theirs marked as posted yet?

    • Yep. Just got a notification then.

      • still haven't got notification, ordered 19/9 at 18:00

        • Still not posted! Hope videopro hasn't taken all their stock

        • @Dealiooooooo:

          Ouch! Received mine today…

        • @swilsonalfa: Thanks a pretty quick turnaround! Was it delivered via courier?

        • @Davesday:

Yep, Fastway. However, I'm in Wollongong as well, so it didn't have to go far.

        • @swilsonalfa: I got mine overnight too! Shipped the day before and arrived the next morning. I'm based in Sydney.

  • Added one to the cart after dinner and by the time I checked out and filled in the PayPal info, it was out of stock again. Been several hours and neither silver or black is back in stock

  • I missed the other QC35 deal for $379.95 and wonder if this is the next best deal. Reason is I'm travelling by next Friday (for TRS purposes)

    • appears to be - i rang the store, and they have them in stock, Videopro is on backorder. probably best to go with this deal if you need them ASAP.

      • Thanks mate!
