Ripper monitors. Have two in DP daisy chain.

Colour isn't as nice as my LG 27EA83B, but there is less ghosting and the IPS glow is a little better too.

    • And 2k not 4K like the lg

  • Great paid $560 at 1155pm last night 😡
Is it easy or possible to cancel fleabay orders?

    • Yeah I just read about how bad this company is. Does this company give the premium dell warranty for 3 years? Are they an authorised seller?

    • Cheers for the headsup. Was about to buy a mouse from them but got it elsewhere

    • For what it's worth, I've had two good experiences with them.

    • Thanks for the link. Was going to order but now not too sure.

  • hey are these LED or LCD?

    • -6

Yes. All Dell monitors are LCD.

I think you mean to ask is it LED or CCFL backlight, but since you don't understand, it doesn't matter.
Some high-gamut monitors still use CCFL.

Wow do you know you sound like a complete knobhead?

        Fwiw it's LED backlit.

        • thanks mate thats what i wanted to know :)

        • -3

In what sense is that an alternative to LCD?
Why defend ignorance? There is no such thing as LCD backlight.

mate why dont you go get some love from your mother or something, because clearly you need something.
clearly your in-depth knowledge of LCD's and their backlight mechanisms. makes you some sort of internet legend.

Just a bit of healthy anonymous venting against dumb people. Makes it easier to bite my tongue in real life :-)

Being an honest "knobhead" can be cathartic. Good for the soul.

P.S. The post sounded harsher than intended. It *really * does not matter much whether the backlight is LED or not. Its marketing BS.
Yes, there are practical differences, but I can't remember if the monitor I'm using right now is LED or CFFL. And I cannot tell by looking.

        • @manic:
lol. you must be popular :P

No one was defending ignorance but you're probably too wrapped up in your own awesomeness to pick up on that.

So someone on the internet knows less than you on monitor technology and that makes them dumb…and..you feel superior by belittling them while hiding behind a keyboard but know better than (or are too scared) to act like that to someone's face. What a world we live in!

          @OzBragain:

Meh. Its not you, its me. You might be the 27th person to tell me how wonderful homeopathy is, and I have to vent. Bad luck for you.
Its only because we hear it so many times that it becomes an issue.

          @manic:
Well depending on the build quality of the actual monitor, one 'could' tell whether a panel is LED lit or CCFL lit, based on the uniformity of the light distributed throughout the panel.

Also CCFL backlighted panels tend to have a 'warm up' period, usually 1min or so; meaning that when the monitor is turned on, it may initially appear slightly dim. My Dell U2410 which I've had for 6 years, which is CCFL backlit, exhibits this behaviour.

I'll try and be a bit more helpful now, my previous post was from work and I didn't have a lot of time to reply. Here is an absolutely excellent review of this monitor: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2715h.htm

They talk about just about everything, even things you don't generally think of like the OSD.

The deal is still on! I've pulled the pin and bought it, I have a U2713H already and this would be a nice addition to even up the monitors a bit.

  • So spewing I missed out on this

    • I got one delivered on Friday from a different seller on ebay however it's not compatible with a Surface Pro4 as I've since discovered! I'm happy to sell it on for $500. It's pretty much brand new - I used it for an hour before I realised something was amiss - and I have all the packaging. 3-yr Dell Warranty and I haven't registered. I have proof of purchase. DM me if you're interested. I'm in Sydney, inner east.]

I've tested the monitor with my work laptop and it works fine. I needed it to work with my SP4. It's a shame as it's a lovely monitor.

Not compatible with Surface Pro 4

      • cheers for the offer, but I have a surface pro 4 too lol (got it with that harvey norman deal a few months back) so guess it's a good idea to hold off until they sort it out! Can't believe it doesn't work

        • No worries, it seems like you've had a lucky escape!
