320 sold so far in under 30 mins. I didn't use the code as it was not listed on CR :(

Teaches me a lesson to always check Ozbargain/Ozvoucher before purchase.

    • I feel your pain! :(

    • +2

      Ozvoucher

      It's called couponese now.

  • WTF does this do?

    • +70

I'd imagine it stops you from walking around looking like an idiot.

      Wait…nope

      • +1

Well… sorta. hide it under your sleeve and you dont need to hold your phone like a zombie to just get KM's.
IMO this actually has MORE value for the casual player than the diehard.

Though IF you can wait for stock, they're $49 in store. But very pre-ordered-out.

    • Compatible with both iOS and Android**, Pokémon GO Plus connects to smartphones via Bluetooth low energy and notifies players about nearby Pokémon and PokéStop.

    • Loser identification bracelet…

        +14 votes on that comment???
What I've learnt from my free Fitbit Uni course (courtesy of Ozbargain), is that the more people we can get out exercising, the better it will be for our country and the health system. So don't knock it if people want to pay for another fitness tracker.

"Why are people so unkind?" (Who would have thought; Kamahl became a role model.)

        • -5

There's not that much exercise involved in camping at pokestops and spinning imaginary disks dude. Nor in driving slowly while looking at your phone as I've seen so many do.

        • +5

@slipperypete: Actually I'm pretty fit/healthy. Ride ~55km on my bike and run ~20km a week. But my dogs love Pokemon Go because it means I also get out a lot more taking them for walks. Also I don't think I'm sad or pathetic haha

        • +5

You'll get those who sit around but they'll eventually have to get up to go pick up more pokeballs.
As for those driving and playing, we have people who drink and drive.

So don't let the few cloud your judgement. I see no need for people to diss it as much as they do… we have bozos shouting obscenities as they drive by because you are looking at your phone and not bothering anyone or doing anything to offend them; 2 occurences to me and my kids. Really?? Where did this hate come from?

I'm proud to say I've done >28k steps yesterday. My average was 2-3k daily even after I got my Fitbit. Nowhere near enough. It had dropped off only a month after doing the course (I got a HD btw!). My monthly average results has at least tripled since July.

I get to chat more with my kids (and strangers in the neighbourhood). Kids are willing to go out at any chance whereas before there was so much moaning when we needed to go grocery shopping, etc.

I also see alot of other parents with their children out and about too. That knowing nod; we know its good.

        • -1

          @em:
Em that's great. However I keep hearing excuses about how good pokemon is because it gets kids outside. I understand that it is people of all types ages and sizes that play this game but to advertise it as a way to get kids out and be healthy is sub standard. My reply was to this….

“What I've learnt from my free Fitbit Uni course (courtesy of Ozbargain), is that the more people we can get out exercising, the better it will be for our country and the health system. So don't knock it if people want to pay for another fitness tracker.”

As I said, this isn't a reflection on the game, it's more towards the people that this is aimed at.

Actually your dog statement was cool..however again why does it take an electronic device which we keep our heads down glued to the screen to be outdoors. You have shown a useful causality of the game…at least your dog gets more walks in!

And as for sad and pathetic..it isn't the people it's the pathetic excuses. "Pokemon is good because my kid no longer sits indoors on his computer or watching videos..he now goes outside and stares at his phone and that has to be a good thing"

          @MATTDAMON:

You've been dying to say that to a human haven't you ;-)

      Make Nintendo money.

  • Edit: nevermind

  • +45

I imagine this would be an absolute chick magnet. Pity one per eBay account. I have two arms.

    • Yeah but Des & Troy will always get more chicks than this.. because together, they DESTROY!

      • +1

Too much cardio playing pokemon go ay mate?

        • +1

meh.. i was talking about the arms actually… pokemon go is the most antisocial social game ever

    • +43

You know whats funny, it was so widely adopted, I legitimately had 3 dates with some pretty nice women who I got chatting to because we were the only people at a secluded pokestop that was oddly lured.

At first I chuckled at the 'luck' of it all… then it happened twice more.

You soon realise the people out there socializing, REGARDLESS of what you're doing to be social, have a way better hit-rate, than the "Jock" who thinks its lame and is sitting on his couch with his beer.

I'm sure a lot wont believe me, but, hey, I don't need ya to, I had a good time :P

      • +1

secluded pokestop that was oddly lured

        At least it wasn't thugs.

Lure patches seem work in such a way that the number of people present is inversely proportional to the amount of conversation going on.

        • It was in a CBD residential suburb, so my assumption is someone in the house nearby did it; they'd have easily been in range.
Looking back, I laughed at it; it would have literally been a lone man standing under a street light, with darkness around him.
very "strangers meeting in the dark" scenario…. perfect mix of creepy and romantic :P

But yes, the risk is always there.
          worth it :P

      • +2

I can understand that…especially for the more shy who have limited social lives. Never really thought of that. But then again anyone stands a better chance than a 'jock' drinking beer on a couch!!!

Gotta admit though, there are better places to meet girls with more in common….it just involves anywhere outside of pubs and clubs but if you get a poke through pokemon then well done!!

  • +2

check out review before buying. catching pokemon rate is less than 25% as this device will not atempt twice to catch any pokemon

    • +5

I don't think many people will buy this specifically for catching Pokemon. Moreso for pokestop and egg/buddy tracking.

      • -8

        egg/buddy tracking.

Doesn't do that. You have to have the phone and app open in your pocket still

        • +1

It does. As per the link I posted in the description,

Correction (14/9/2016): Even while Pokémon GO is operating in the background, distance walked is applied towards hatching eggs and Candy earned for Buddy Pokémon.

        • +1

          @crs:

Haha yeah no one had mentioned it at the time so I was just going off what was said earlier in the week. I ordered back then so it didn't phase me, but this is even better.

        • Where have you been? It does track your distance.

        • Wow. I made a comment saying there was no tracking based on my info from earlier in the week and this was before any of the comments here saying there was tracking while the app was idle.

        • @Orpheus:

At the start of the week, everywhere had that it did not track your distance while Pokemon GO was in the background. Clearly this was incorrect and since it has come out, it does indeed track distance with the app idle in the background.

  • -1

The only dealbreaker is that it does not hatch eggs……..and now the buddy pokemon :(

    • Doesn't hatch eggs, wtf? I thought the entire purpose of this was that it tracked your kms while the game wasn't open so you can hatch eggs while walking around.

    • +1

The link source in the description by OP says otherwise.

    • +1

the fact they couldn't put something basic in this liek a pedometer is mind boggling

      • The game doesn't use a pedometer at all. It tracks distance by periodically checking your GPS location.

  • +2

Oh man I hope people sort by lowest price to see this listing over the scalpers.

Edit: Btw this is what it does - https://i.imgur.com/kPQE21h.png

  • +3

People still play this grindfest shell of a game?

  • Parrot drone for me , stupid Pokemon accessory for the gf

    • +1

If you have a bad one you should trade her in for candy. ;-) <—- joke

    • +4

      why?

    • +2

shouldn't it be less annoying? as they wouldn't be on their phones as much?

    • +4

You're doing a pretty good job of outdoing them

  • +38

    Hmmmm, what's worse -

People who are getting enjoyment out of a game and having fun playing

    OR

People who think it's fun to belittles what others like and think their snarky remarks are going to stop people playing?

ANy web site that scan pokemon location in WA?

    • +5

      https://fastpokemap.se
Works everywhere most of the time.

      • Thanks! Is this updating fast and works in suburbs outside CBD?

        • +2

The map will work anywhere. It only looks like its working better in the CBD is because a lot more people are searching the same area, and the website caches all the results. Whereas in the suburbs, the chances are you are the only one searching, so you only get results from the one small area that you searched.

    • +9

      what's a legit pokemon game?

      • +5

I like it because its the first game my Girlfriend will play with me and I dont get in trouble for not talking to her enough when we go out.

        • -2

So all you talk about is PoGo when you go out?

        • @Baebs: No ;-). I'm just not 'chatty' enough for her liking apparently so at least when we go for walks etc this she stays entertained enough to not notice.

        • +1

We're on the brink of breaking up. We no longer hold hands anymore going out, because he needs both hands to catch them all. I play too, but not that excessive. Conversation revolves around pokemon and battling gyms. He would be still out past midnight to get coins. I get ignored and forgotten when he's out gym raiding with random people on the internet.

        • @Omitsuki: My girlfriends in to it more than me. I'm in to my fitness so this will be good when she asks me to take her phone to hatch eggs on my run :-) I cycle to work as well so this will be a safer alternative then pulling my phone out of my pocket to catch another weedle :).

        • @dickiee:

Riding your bike will most likely cause the game to go into vehicle mode so it won't track your KMs :(

        • +2

@serpserpserp:but in my Pokemon Red game I had as a kid you could get a bike. That's no fair… 😟

    • Like Pokemon Go? It has Pokemon in the title. What about Pokemon Rescue Team? Still a legit Pokemon Game. I really like Pokemon Snap.

  • +1

    Pokemon Go? What's that?
My Tamagotchi egg just hatched today and I am raising it now.

I know you mentioned this is from Nintendo AU/NZ eBay Store

but it seems like this store has 0 feedback and has been registered since May 2016.

It will be pretty funny if this is a scam…..hahahahahahah

    • hahahahahahah

      please don't.

    • -1

Edit: I am wrong. As advised by moderator: http://www.nintendo.com.au/goplus links to this ebay account.
Genuinely surprised Nintendo put this little effort into their ebay venture.

    • Agreed… could very well be a scam but as long as you pay via paypal, you should be fine!

    • +5

      It's a new official store:
      http://www.nintendo.com.au/goplus

    • I've updated the description :)

    • +2

The ebay store was referenced by the official Twitter feed for Nintendo AU/NZ.

Unless their Twitter account was hacked, that's enough of the fear mongering.

      • I wouldn't call it fear mongering. I'd call it healthy skepticism in online trade.

0 feedback, new account, questionable username (looks generic, not even capitalised), terribly formatted advertisement for a billion dollar company, suspiciously highly sought after item as the first item… . Some people can't afford to be $50 out of pocket for an item that doesn't exist.

    • +1

The Nintendo AU/NZ ebay store has also been stated on their official website as per the link:

It disgusts me that people do this…. Opportunistic scumbags with no ethics. Not in the Ozbargain spirit.

    • +1

They go for $250 on eBay.
Nintendo should have listed it with two spellings of Pokemon\Pokémon because they're listing doesn't show up if you search for "Pokemon Go Plus"

  • Why does it have to be so much, If I wanted one then i would need 3 of them lol

  • +1

I reckon They did something like get 10,000 units in. Only make 2000 available initially. Created hype.

They then say 'We have additional stock just come in' (even though they've had it the entire time) and then everyone scampers to get one thinking there's not much stock but there is actually plenty.

  • +15

Created 100 ebay accounts. Bought 100. Now selling for $200. Contact me at "broden" if wanting to buy.

    • +3

Negged then un-negged once i realized what 'broden' was.

  • +1

This will prove useful to me when I have time to play and also use when I go ride my DIY E-Board.

  • Aww… it's a tad too expensive to only offer those basic functions… needs more bells and whistles or bonuses in game for owning it

  • +3

Expensive for what it does. No doubt they will add more functionality as the app updates, but not worth the coin yet.

  • Whats fun about clicking a button? I want to see whats on the map.

  • +1

    Waiting for Apple watch app….
