  It is incorrect that anyone can become a member to get the deal, you can see the deal but won't be able to access it. As the email mentions ('remember this is just for you'), this is definitely targeted - the offer was sent to an old classic account I hold, but wasn't eligible when I logged in with my current Platinum account (comes up with error message saying I'm not eligible.
