30 Can Block of Tun Full Strength Beer (Brewed in USA -updated) $22.50 @ Dan Murphy's (North Lakes, QLD)

120

Was at DM in North Lakes buying a $30 slab of Heineken 500ml cans and saw these by the registers

here's a link to product page

15 boxes as at 4pm today. $22.50 each for 30 cans. inexpensive. you do the math.

ok, I'll do it …….75cents a can.

it's made in Vietnam USA (edit)

I'm leaving in this part about Aldi rivet beer as I really like it and think it is great value.
I've had the Aldi Rivet beer which is also made in Vietnam and is 5%. if its the same manufacturer then double awesome (Aldi Rivet lager - an unpretentious lager that is "beer"- no fancy stuff, but neither is it crap. it's almost what beer should be if there was an all encompassing term to describe beer to someone who has never drunk it)

  • There were a few slabs of James Boags Draugh, Monteith's Pale Ale and Corona with the reduced sticker at my local DM's (Bundoora Polaris) all slashed by 40% but close to their best before date. I'm guessing that most stores have just done a stocktake.

    Bia hơi!
I assume it'd be culturally appropriate,to crack one at 10am on the street corner & watch the world go by whilst trying to decide how many days to spend on Halong bay?

"I want beer that just tastes like real beer."

this stuff has agent orange in it.

  • After drinking a carton you will be ranting and raving DOH MAH to everyone in the street.

  • Cans at Prahran Murphy's say product of USA

    • strange. I checked the dan murphy website yesterday and am positive it said Vietnam.

      • Murphy site says United States too.

Vietnamese brews are very good in my experience hence my interest but I'd prefer to patronise a Vietnamese brewer than a US one anyway.

          maybe too much $30 heineken…..

  • As far as i knew Tun was always brewed in the USA.

I bought a carton once and it was never finished..i think about 4 beers from it was consumed n rest in the bin. And I'll usually drink any sort of beer but Tun didn't do it for me at all..I now refer to it as "tun of crap" beer..heh.

  • Anyone know if the heinekins or tuns are still reduced at north lakes? Or if there's any other beer reduced atm? Thankyou
