Hi, signed a contract back in April with Foxtel and was under the impression that the EPL was live. Tried to get them to cancel it and argued some stuff from the "Will I Be Able to Somehow Avoid Foxtel Termination Fee?" (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/258643) forum but they said I signed it after the Bein sports was annoucned. Anything I can do to avoid the termination fee?

Your argument will depend (IMO) on the timing of Foxtels announcement of the loss of its EPL rights.If you signed post that announcement then I highly doubt you can use the loss of EPL as a bargaining chip to extricate yourself from Foxtel.
If you signed before then I think you can argue… How quickly you raised this after the announcement might assist your case, but if you are only just making noise now in September it is going to be hard to justify its related to EPL again, you've known this is a problem for months.
You're probably better off pleading with friends to find someone who can share an EPL login to get your footy fix.

You have no basis to cancel your contract without paying an exit fee.
To be frank, it doesn't really matter when Foxtel lost the rights. You pay $25 per month for the Foxtel Sport Package. If a sport that is usually on Fox Sports, ESPN or Eurosport is no longer broadcast and you don't want to pay for it, then remove the Fox Sports package from your bill. You can do that if you like.
The thing is with foxtel is that getting account upgrades/discounts/fees wavered hugely depends on the person you speak to and when you do. But to be honest i think it would be highly unlikely for it to be wavered. The best bet you would be able to do is to ring up and ask, and if not then ask to speak to a manager.
