Hello!
Looking to see what makes the most sense money wise.
I've got two LG G4 phones;
Phone 1
- Bought outright from the devil (Yatango) last year.
- Phone ended up with a bootloop problem, decided not to fix it (no local warranty)
Phone is currently sitting at home, in a box
Phone 2
- After phone 1 bootloop'd, I signed onto a 24 month contract with Optus in order to get a new phone.
- This phone managed to get into the wash and now has water damage that is unfixable.
My questions are:
Is it worthwhile sending Phone 1 to the LG repair store in Lidcombe, paying $200-300 to fix it? I'd be eligible for 6 months warranty and it would be done in 1-5 days
Or,
Should I simply get a new phone?
From my understanding, Optus won't be able to do anything about Phone 2 ( I don't have any warranty on it. Surprise!) and if I did get a new phone from them, I'd need to pay that handset's repayments and phone 2 for the duration of both contracts
the alternative is to remove the IMEI sticker from phone 1 and send it to be repaired under the warranty for phone 2…
