Well at least my S5210 is made in Germany
after using dyson, i can't see why people should using bags-filter vacuum cleaner anymore.
My dyson can't properly clean the thick shag pile carpet I have in my rumpus room. I know I need to replace the carpet, but my 10+ year old Miele, which is still running perfectly, comes out from under the house and does a far better job.
Each to their own. The reason for bag vacuums I've heard from some people is that they hold a lot more than the Dyson does, so don't need to empty as often. They are completely sealed when it does come time to change, so no swirling of dust around.
What Choice says is you don't need a $600 or more Dyson to clean well. You can buy a lot of bags for the $300 more for a Dyson.
They haven't figured out how to make the cyclonic system less noisy. With my Miele, I can pop on my wireless headphones listen to a podcast at a reasonable volume while vacuuming.
Every Dyson owner I know has had to have theirs replaced or repaired. Fortunately they have great service though. The Mieles may seem old school, but apart from having to pay for bags perform just as well and are very reliable.
I know how good Miele is from my experience with the washer at home but man these designs are sooo old school. Are the vacuum still made in Germany?
