My last pair became useless because one ear suddenly became quieter than the other, willing to give them another shot at this price especially since they come with 3 sizes of earphone tip.

    • Exact same thing happened to me but one ear just died altogether. Didn't have this problem with the first gen and third gens

      • I feel like this means that these types of earphones aren't that great to purchase. Should we just be sticking to buying things like the Piston 3's or something?

      • +2

I had the same issue with my Piston 3s.
I guessed it was earwax and was correct.
So I prised out the mesh bit, popped it in boiling water and bingo.
I figured it would be impossible to get the mesh back in but it was fine.

    • don't all earphones come with 3 different sizes?

    • Same thing happened with one of the older pistons just a month after owning them, left ear piece just died. Normally I am really happy with Xiaomi products but seems to be a issue with there QA

      • Yep. After 6 weeks mine just died on the left side. It had also been slightly quiet on that side since first use. Just started on my second pair yesterday. Will see how long they last.

    • Same problem happened with me as well. Right ear piece stopped working all of a sudden.

Finally, a pair of headphones that won't cut my hands. Late-night infomercial gold right here.

  • Great deal for quality earphones thank you MM, the Piston Basics are great.

    • What's so good about basics?

      • compared to other earphones around that price, it's worlds apart.

  • I am new to EB. Can someone please tell me how to redeem the EB points on mobile website? I can't find the option to redeem the points. Thanks in advance.

My Pistons have a mesh over the holes that can get waxy and if you pop them off with a screw driver they sound much better

    • +1

I should have read down - just said the same thing. +1 from me.

I never received my order, complained here

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/249639?page=1#comment

    Giving date order number etc.

Was told they would refund my $4 or whatever, never received that, and neither did all the other people complaining on the above thread who also didn't receive their orders.

      Hi abacus

I have messaged the sales department. I have asked them to proceed the refund tomorrow morning. I will let u know as soon as I hear from them.

  • is there any chance you give further discount for xiaomi powerbank pro 10000?

    http://www.everbuying.net/product1158110.html

    • Sorry but Everbuying can not deliver any powerbanks to Australia.

      • Well how about Bali? I am not in Australia at the moment

        • +2

I will check with the sales department and will let you know tomorrow morning.

        • @monty.melb: Any good news?

        • @Alit78: no they don't. 😩

      • Is thus permanent or temporary? Because I'm still waiting on my replacement power bank…

        • Can u please contact Becky regarding this.

    • +1

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/263075

~46Aud shipped from australia (with coupon GEAR4DAD)

  • What's the difference (if any) between the basics and the III's? -in the context of soundquality

    • I'm also curious to know, why would basics be any good?

  • is the Really-Tight code only valid for the grey/ black versions? trying to buy the white ones but the code doesn't seem to work for them?

  • I had this earphone before and it is really good for its price tag.

  • LOVELY!

  • I apply the coupon for the Xiaomi headphones and only drops it to $4.89USD. Am I missing something?

    • +1

You need to make a new account and APPLY your EB Points which should be like 100 points or something which is $1 USD off. Should be at the bottom somewhere.

      • Thank you. That would be my issue. I had seen the 100EB Points in the description but didn't know I had to apply them.

  • +12

Seriously, I'm fed up of all the EB deals with the "New Account" pricing…every time there's an EB deal, should I create a new account?

If it's a bargain, it could very well be but the pricing needs to be clearer, considering a few of us have bought things from EB in the past and don't want a new account for every single item we buy.

    • Couldn't agree more.
If anything the "New Account" pricing turns me off the deal & EB.

    • +1

New accounts receive 100 EB points for joining and further points for confirming email address and having an avatar. 100 points is redeemable for $2.

For many items posted here, which are relatively inexpensive already, a $2 discount (more with confirming+avatar) makes it cheaper than other sellers.

I look at the-creating-a-new-account as just a long winded sign in. My primary email account is one that allows the use of "+" & somethung extra, to add additional email addresses which go to my primary address.

Would you be happy if there a "not new account" price alongside the "new account" lower price?

      P.s. didn't neg you.

      • +1

The EB points scheme is designed for single accounts.
ie. Buy something - accrue points, review item - accrue points. Use points for discount. Repeat.
Why would most users go through the process of creating an avatar on an account they use only once (unless they are an avid OzBargainer)?
All Monty.Melb seems to be using the point scheme for is the new user discount.

EB should be confident enough in their deals to post the actual price. Not the 12 step plan you have to go through in MM's posts.

Also, not everyone has an email account that allows the creation of multiple addresses.

        • +2

One of the ways internet companies is valued is on the total number of registered users.
They want to encourage as many customer sign-ups as possible.
Investors are even more impressed with user numbers that show engagement, like posting comments, validating data, creating avatars etc.
So EB are incentivising that behaviour.

They are not seeking to offer the lower price to maximise sales, and I suspect they make little or nil profit when you take a further $2 off their price, so they will never offer these prices without the sign up rigmarole.

Their view is likely that users creating many accounts is less desirable than many users each creating one, but as there is no easy way to police this, they are allowing it. Your wish of getting the discount with no further work is never going to happen, so either take advantage of the discount, or find a lower price elsewhere.

And be aware that the price without the points discount is $6.48, so it isn't like you are massively penalised if you can't be bother filling out a new account or looking elsewhere for a better price.

        • +1

          @mskeggs:

I'm not advocating pricing the products the same with and without the new member discount.

I would prefer if the deals simply said $6.48 or thereabouts as the price instead of $4.43 (multi-step new account creation with bundled spam required to obtain price every single time)

        • @twister292: unfortunately this is ozbargain. "how to get a bargain" is the name of the game.

That's why I always provide in instructions on how to achieve the best price and a breakdown of the various discounts from the original price to the final price.

eg. Cat Stealing Coins Piggy Bank Toy

          Items Sub-total USD$ 10.65
          Coupon - USD$ 1.06
          Mobile Discounts - USD$ 0.19
          EB Points saving - USD$2.00
          The amount payable: USD$7.40

If the title was the regular price then why would people look at the deal? I know I'd glance at the title and go "meh, more expensive than aliexpress/ebay/DX/geekbuying, etc" and ignore it but then would miss the bargain price listed inside.

perhaps you can start your own site called "OzPossiblynotabargain"?

        • @altomic: He's got a bit of a point though, if those extra steps become too cumbersome and unreasonable then they're basically just clickbait. It's flying close to the rules of ozbargain coming into play. It's still got to be useful and reasonable.

Kind of like how the airlines used to advertise OMG $39 FLIGHTS!!!! and you get there and they only had like 2 spots available at that price.

  • This sounds like too much effort in trying to get the price down to the advertised price. Then the spam mail from China that will follow after opening a new account, I think I will pass on this one.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I bought two items and only received one. They refused to refund, I had to escalate to Paypal for a refund. No worth the hassle.

    • Can you please PM me your order number.

    • thanks for joining ozbargain to post this comment.

      • Thank you. I am currently going through the refund process with Paypal, I needed to send the one I received back to the seller in order to get a full refund. It costed me $21.64 to post it back to China. Never again for sure.

    • Still waiting for your PM so that we can proceed to refund you.

      • Tell me how you are able to help me now after I won the dispute and while I am waiting for my refund from Paypal??? I had to go to them for assistance only because you guys don't know what you are doing, I needed to send four emails to explain that I only received one out of two items I ordered. What I only received from your customer services were ignorant and meaningless emails from robots or someone who cannot read.

        • If at first place you have messaged either me or Becky we would have resolved it straight away. Any order which have not been delivered within 25 business days they offer either full refund or send new one.

        • @monty.melb:

i still don't see how that works Monty. Esp with the refund. Basically you keep someone's money for 25 days, by lieing to them that they will get a product then you offer a refund if they can be bothered chasing that up. Not really proper compensation.

        • +1

@Gimli: it does not happen very often. If for some reason the product is not delivered Everbuying offer full refund. Everbuying have delivered more than 30,000 orders to Ozbargain community and have less than 20 disputes.

I can understand that it's frustrating when u wait for your order and is not delivered within the time mention. Because they use shipping company and some time the order get struck at Australian Customs for more time then expected.

        • +2

          @monty.melb:

fair enough. sorry i think my previous post was unnecessarily harsh.

May be you should preempt these posts by having those estimated delivery times in posts and also that information to contact everbuying if not received in 25 days so that refund can be obtained so that you can avoid these recurrent posts. (Each of these posts makes everybuying look worse than it is). Delivery times seems standard for normal post from china. I think it is pretty generous if you are offering refund /repost after 25 days.

anyways, continue the good work on getting awesome deals!

        • @Gimli: cheers mate 👍🏻

any deals for Xiaomi Yi II? or Yi dashcam op?

  • +1

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between any of the Xiaomi Piston range of headphones? From what I've read, all of them share the spame drivers, but have different exterior and cord materials. Is this Accurate?

    • +1

I would like to know too. As far as I know these share the same drivers as the piston 3.

      • Yeah that's my understanding too. Which is crazy given the ~600% price difference between the base model and the III's.

        Anyone?

  • For anyone buying from EB, expect VERY SLOW shipment.

Of the 5 orders I made with them thus far, 2 arrived nearly two (2) months since ordering. I am still waiting for the one order I made back on 22-Jul (order number EP1607222126019659). This one is for a power bank and curiously I was not made aware EB cannot send to Australia?

    10% discount off Everbuying
    Code: EB714

Unfortunately it doesn't work with the coupons above. :(

    • yes, you can't stack coupons

and the 10% discount only works for certain items. you'd notice that most items have a "was $xxx" price and "now reduced $xxx" price.

the 10% discount comes off the "was $xxx" price so using the EB714 code actually increases the price as the "now reduced $xxx" price is usually an amount at least 10% less than the original price.

  • Just asked Becky to extend the code Really-Tight for 50 more units. Will update you as soon as it's ready.

    • Thanks

    • Any chance for even more units? =)

  • When I saw your vote I knew this would happen. Good work getting it so low. Great Deal!

  • Mine have arrived.

  • Any chance of some more units? :)

  • FYI, the Promotion code for the piston has expired.
