It was $0.20 a few months ago.

    • +5

Yes and I regret missing out on that sale.

But how often did it go $0.20? It was part of the App of the Week sale by Google.

If you believe this app will be useful for you, now is the time to buy.

If you are not sure whether you need it, by all means wait for it to be $0.20 again.

Since when is talking sense in a calm and logical manner equivalent to defending one's religion?

        • +4

Who's the sensitive one now? See nothing with his reply. Just an explanation of why they listed it

        • +2

He might've been. If his religion involves Unified Remotes.

    • A colleavue didn't even get asked for a password (to authorise payment)…

Anyway we paid & glt 2x Servers up+running… botn Win 7 (actually 1 was Win7 Starter (on an ASUS Netbook) & t'other was Wkn7 Home Premium on an ASUS notebook.

      PROBLEM:

      • For the Netbook, we can select from ~20+ Remotes = IMPRESSIVE

      • For Notebook, we only get Media remotes - ie: VLC, Custom hTML & Plex (app W10) - DISAPPOINTING

Is there some kind of (eg, Home Premium specific) Security-Bate that need to be opened on the Notebook?

How do we gain access to all the other Remotes?!?

  • +2

    How much is it normally?

    • $4.99 I believe.

    • Removed comment as I mixed up pricing with another app

  • +2

this is worthy of anyone's collection if you have a PC

  • Excellent app, just be aware that you can control from android, but there is no (surprisingly) android server, so you can't control an android device.

    • I wonder if Google prevents that…?
Or have UR's dev'rs yet to work down their ToDo list to this task?

  • +1

Does anyone else think that their icon is very similar to Spotify's?

    • +2

I have shortcuts for both Spotify and Unified Remote on my home screen. I frequently press on the wrong one. Quite frustrating.

      • Maybe this (aparently Swedish) co. can replace Green with a blend of Yellow+Blue (SE's Flag Colors)…

  • i paid full price for this some time back and have no regrets. thoroughly recommend

  • iOS equivalent?

    • +6

      $400

      • +1

        With no ss card support

        • +1

That would only let the cool leak out

  • Cheers, had used free a few years back. Worth having for the media pc!

  • Bought one in US store. 1USD.

  • Is this intended for people who plug their PCs into their giant TV?

Because if I'm in range of my PC monitor, I'm also in range of my kb/m controls..

    • If your PC is so close to your TV this app may not add much value for you.

      • Mine is not hooked to the TV, but to a monitor.

If you're connecting it to a TV, you'd be seated on your couch which would be more practical for an app like this.. I gather?

        • It all depends on how lazy you want to be haha

    • It's intended for people with PCs, so as a subset of that: sure why not
edit: (to make reply less useless) I use app to change music or video from bed. Also monitor remote is a super powerful, Teamviewer-like feature.

  • Cheers OP. Bought two (one for SO).

Set up on both phones for x2 HTPCs, x2 TVs, AV receiver and x2 hifi systems (with IR). Nice having all the devices controlled through the same widget. I much prefer the flexibility of the widgets size and no. of buttons than AnyMote, though it's much more complicated to get the correct IR codes.

    • Wouldn't you just let the HTPCs control the rest via CEC? These days (IMHO) there's no need to directly interact with anything that isn't the HTPC (as my wife will tell you ;-) ).

  • Bought it for $.20, foolishly hoped that it will help me control my devices using IR. I mean since it is a paid application I assumed it will have a zillion different IR presets for all kinds of TV, AC, etc. Alas, it's only DIY IR. I several times tried to find an application for this application :). But there's like dozens free apps that do the job more effectively and… well, free.

    • The same devs do have another paid app in Google Play that can control the TVs, settop boxes via IR. You may wanna check it out.

    • +1

I does have presets, they're just a little fiddly to get to.
      - Make a new widget and then open the application.
      - Navigate to Customize>Widgets.
      - Select your newly created widget under the settings drop down menu and click the edit button at the base of the picture of the widget.
      - In the Layout Editor make sure the edit pencil is highlighted and click on the button you want to edit. This should take you to the Property Editor.
-Set your desired name and colour for the widget and then select ON:Tap > Change action.
      - Press Device Action> Next > IR > Next >Lookup> Next.
      - You then search for the manufacturer of the device you want to control. Ie. Pioneer. Select Pioneer and press next.
      - Select the type of device. ie AV Reciever. Now select the Codeset of your device, I just trial and error them by selecting a code set, going to the next page and selecting the power on/off and "test". Once the device responds you have found the right code.
      - Click next and then then press done. You then need to use the tick at the top of the screen to confirm each of the previous steps.
-Then you have 1 button of your widget, repeat for the remaining buttons. If you're using multiple devices you can export/import the widgets.

It's far more complicated than AnyMote, which is probably the best IR app
IMO, but I prefer the flexibility at the cost of ease of use.

      • Tnx for the detailed instruction m8!
        I just wonder why developers h8 humans…
        Will try AnyMote.
Now I am using ZaZaRemote, Mi Remote, IR Smart remote and Smart Remote.
All of them have pros and cons but none of them can control my TV and AC good enough :( Some features always missing…
Btw Smart Remote is quite an app, it does not only control TV but show a detailed TV quide with search and some others features. Still not ideal though…

  • Great app. Bought it at full price years ago and find it very handy.

It's weird controlling the mouse pointer from Android wear, though.

  • Wow! Popular app!

    There were 1861 click-thru's a moment ago.

  • Dig a bit deeper, to learn about Flic's, from flic.io

Buy some or not, their promo video is really funny…

  • Expired.
