yes, you can get a crazy expensive, over $60 accurate mechanical gauge

try it a few times, you will find that cheapy mechanical will strangely be consitent YET wrong
Mate has the same BBQ and the same gauge (infact, he got me mine)
His is 25c lower on average then the actual, min is 30c lower
I very simple hole needs to be drilled in the cover
The main reason I needed a gauge was because in the arvo, after being in the sun and boat all day, I will crank the BBQ up to remove the bacon remains
and
That way I see it is on, and is harder to forget
(or the gas did not run out, etc)
