They do virtual surround: http://au.ign.com/articles/2010/08/02/surround-sound-headpho…
Some headsets do quite a good job at it too (I can't personally comment on the headset posted however). I don't think they'll ever quite compare to a quality 7.1 surround sound system, but definitely a good alternative for those that need to use a headset (i.e. due to others living in the premises).
Not on PS4 tho.
No way 2 speakers can do 7.1.
Can two ears hear 7.1?
Wireless 7.1
They've been on that version for a while now…
Hahaha, is negging a new way of up voting now?
I've got the G930 and the battery in that doesn't last long enough to use the wireless functionality. I'm always plugged in.
No idea if this has improved on that but personally I don't intend on buying a wireless headset again.
The batteries can be replaced on the G930 though, I'm sure this one is the same.
I have G930 and they are great.
Battery last a good amount of time.
Sounds like you got a faulty battery, didn't look after it properly or its just old and needs replacing.
Whats a good amount of time? Mine lasted 4 hours without charge when I first got it about 18 months ago. Now it lasts about 45 minutes.
Couple of friends with the same headset bought in either NZ or different store have had similar experiences with it.
Please.. Didn't look after it properly..
As a side I had the PS4 headset and got around 8 hours out of it. A year later it was around 6 hours. 5.1 surround sound, yada yada.. So similar tech to the G930.
Towards the end the battery lasted probably around 2 hours before it needed charging again. Whilst it's not that expensive to change the battery (~$25) it's just …annoying. Not to mention that the battery didn't last that long in the first place, so you can't do an entire day's worth of gaming without plugging in.
The ear pads also started falling apart after about 4-6 months.
I got mine on special on a good USD exchange rate with an amazon coupon for around ~90AUD. I wouldn't pay double for something similar that they haven't really improved on.
I have a G933 (bought from this same seller, Mighty Ape, at the last eBay sale). Lasts a whole day of use with some to spare if you don't use the RGB lights, otherwise I think it was around 4-6 hours? Don't quote me on the latter though, I turned off the lights as soon as I realised how much it impacted the battery life, plus you can't even see the damn lights anyway haha.
The lights are just advertising for other people to see, and you are helping them with that.
What kind of batteries does it use?
Not when I always have the lights off, bought it for the wireless feature, not the lights :P
Battery looks like this, although no idea if you can easily find replacements: http://i1.wp.com/www.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/…
Batteries are easy on eBay.
I havent used these but G930 are pretty good and you can probably get them for close to $100
As people have said how good can the audio really get with headphones?
Im happy with G930 so ill stick with them.
G933 is the worst Logitech product I have ever owned, one of the earcups died within 2 months of purchase with light use; and got to know how bad Logitech's customer services are.
Contacted logitech for warranty, went around in full circle, and said approved but will shipped in 2 months time due to out of stock.
2 months later, nothing, instead, they closed my warranty claim ticket; which I had to raise a new one referring to the old one, then they said they would not honour the warranty unless I show them a photo of the destroyed product. (WTF?!)
Got in touch with NSW Fair Trading (apparently I wasnt the only one had made complaint against Logitech recently), they immediately responded back to me and suggested, take the headphone to a recycling centre and show them an evidence.
Took it to recycling centre, got photo evidence, sent to them, almost 2 weeks later, no reply so I chase up to them, which they said 'they have not received any evidence.
I also had an issue with an ear cup on my G933s, although mine started to hiss. I called, was first told to take back to place of purchase, which would have been fine but it was Dick Smith, so they said to reply to email they sent me with pic of receipt, with case number on it, and pic of headset and its serial number, all normal things. It did take a full 5 working days for an approval of warranty, and as per you, they were out of stock. They asked me to send pics showing the product in a state of non-repairable damage, ie destroy it, and they will send out new ones. This does make perfect sense, and cheaper and easier for all than sending back the faulty ones. I did that, and new ones were sent and all good.
Take note, warranty is only for the country of purchase, Mighty Ape is in New Zealand, so headsets would have to be sent back to them for any warranty concerns. I would pay more to get them from PC Byte just so I had warranty coverage after my experience. Far less hassle than sending back to NZ.
I love mine, work very well (PS4) with that warranty issue aside, I do wish the head band was about 2cm wider though to disperse the weight a little more.
As above, showing evidence of the destroyed product is pretty standard procedure when they don't want/need you to ship the broken product back. It is of course also to ensure you're not trying to scam them of a second working product whilst keeping the first one.
I own this headset and I have to say it is the best one I have ever bought. I have had them for about 4 months now and have not had any problems. I mostly use it for gaming but I have used with movies and they are still just as good. This is the price I got them for when the sale was on last time.
Ive had my g930 for 5 years now and still does not want die.
same I had one since it was released but the pads are flakey so i bought the blue material ones. It doesn't seal in the sound as well as the original fake leather pads. Still does the job well. 5hr gaming sessions on overwatch before needting to recharge.
It does lose connections here and there because it is close to my router and other wireless devices.
That run time is short, do you have the lights on, if so turn them off, it makes a huge difference.
7.1 marketing hype. No way 2 speakers can do 7.1.
