I'm looking for a prepaid data SIM I can use in France, Germany and Sweden. I require at least 5gb for 30 days. Calls are not essential but would be a bonus. Hoping to get something for around $50. Any help is appreciated!
Best travel SIM for Europe?
Comments
I went to Europe last year and the '3' network offered me a pre-paid sim, it was unlimited calls, text and data for a month for only 30 pounds
I was able to take it to France, Italy, Germany ect… worked just fine.
I am not sure if the same deal will be on, but there might be something similar.
Was that the 3 UK "Feel at Home" add-on? Includes up to 12gb of data but calls and texts are only for UK destinations.
I used an Ortel SIM in the UK, Hungary and Germany earlier this year. Very good value and worked well in all 3 countries. Saves on the hassle of changing SIM for each country. There are only a couple of options that work in more than one country and I found this to be the best.
There are options for data only if that's what you want. I used the 'Cross' package which was really good. You can top up as you need too online. Setup a bit tricky as the set up site is in German only but cut and pasting into google translate got me through that part.
The card itself can be ordered from ebay sellers and you can set up online before you leave.
It's usually cheaper to get a local sim card when you are there. Which country is your first?
Roaming costs with the EU are pretty cheap or even free.
I.e. Vodafone Germany does not charge any roaming fees within the EU. Their Sim cards are free and 5GBB for 30 days will cost 35 Euros.
