Kris kringle or stocking fillers for the kids
Strip them out for parts.
I would get one as an instant kettle (to dispense hot water) :)
Good idea. I wonder if that uses less electricity than boiling a normal kettle?
You don't get boiling water out of it, but hot steamy water maybe between 70 to eighty degrees, bit more if your lucky.
Should be hot enough for tea and those instant latte or hot choc drinks.
That smiley at the end killed me.
As long as you're happy to receive an inch of hot water per button push
Please note this isnt a nespresso machine but its a bargain for sure
Damn Im in Sydney wouldve love to snap up one of these
Anything comparable available up here or is there a way to order one of these?
me too
damn just buy one and stick it on your desk at work…
Damn. I should just ditch the desk phone and shove this in instead!
chico d'oro pods for this machine are 35¢ and taste much better than aldi pods which were 37¢.
Where from?
29¢ a capsule at Woolworths online this week
https://www.woolworths.com.au/Shop/Search/Products?searchTer…
Wow. That is crazy low price, but even so it's not the capsule type I would buy and it wouldn't make me switch from my tried and true capsules.
Great offer but I have had bad luck with mine. I picked up two machines in the past at different periods when you received a free machine if you purchased 6 packs of pods. Both machines failed leaving me wasted pods. So don't think your getting anything special.
Over a year now, my one is still going strong. Fingers cross.
Like the Dell $9 Printer OzBargain deal of yesteryear. Machine is a loss leader for the Pods; these are the money maker.
Rubbish quality machines, awful pods. Not worth the $9.
Really? I push 8 - 10 pods through mine every day for over a year - works great.
Coffee is very nice also - not sure what problems you've had.
Yep, I'm happy with mine too. Have been using it on and off for around a year. Also have and used an Aldi machine for three years. Both have their advantages. The Espressotoria coffees are usually nicer, but only buy them when half price. They also have decaf made without the use of chemicals if that's your thing.
you drink 8-10 coffees a day?? or are other people using it too…?
Others too - but thanks for your concern :)
Personally I do 3 or 4 cups a day for myself.
Also get mostly the Caffè Aurora Italian pods (cheaper and nicer) and the Doro standard ones on half price.
I think they're excellent value for decent coffee.
I enjoy the vittoria nespresso pods. I looked at this machine when it was free with the pods, the 'vittoria style' pods were 40% more expensive than the nespresso vittoria pods. I can see it not catching on and being useless or too expensive to use later anyway. Could be good for a machine you expect to throw out soon after.
You do get 12 pods instead of 10 so yeh, they do cost a bit more ($7 v $8.39) but, having said that, they do often go to half price so for $4.20 you get 12 pods … Now … As for the coffee … Yyyyuuuuuukkkkkkkyyyyyyy :)
I believe I'm the only person that thinks Vittoria coffee is terrible. Maybe in the 1980s it was better than International Roast and people are just used to it.
I dont know about their ground coffee but I tried some Vittoria nespresso pods and they were YUCK!!!
Agree, I found Vittoria pods to be very weak in flavour, almost like instant coffee. I find L'OR pods are the best for Nespresso apart from the original, which are just too expensive. L'OR are often on sale for $4 for ten pack which is good value I think. And they are a lot better than Aldi pods to my taste buds.
$9 is absolute bargain for a kettle
they give it for free if you buy a few capsules.
but still, $9.99 is a bargain.
Wish I could get one at that price in QLD. Mine is one years old and still going strong but I would like another one as backup in case it breaks down. Stocked up on capsules which will last me into 2018 due to that Woolworths sale (50% off capsules).
One of my fav local markets!
This is a bargain. I've got two of these Espressotoria capsule machines that I bought when Woolies were doing their buy 5 packs of pods get a free machine special. I have 2-3 coffees from it every day but only ever buy the pods when they do a half price sale that's when I stock up on them. You've got to find what flavours work for you I like most of them but the Mountain Grown flavour is my favourite one.
I've had mine about 12 months now (the other is a back up) and a couple of things to be wary of is the machine can sometimes leak. If you get it in the right spot and jiggle with the pull out pod catcher thingy you can often find a sweet spot to stop the leaking but I wash it each week and sometimes the first few afterwards will leak a fair bit until you find that sweet spot again.
Another thing to note is sometimes the machine struggles to puncture the pods properly which can lead to leaking or half filled cups of coffee. My favourite caps Mountain Grown tend to be the tougher ones most of the other flavours the caps are softer so I've gotten used to massaging the MG ones a bit before popping them in, doesn't always work but most of the time it does.
I've been pretty happy with the Espressotoria machine and have gotten good use out of it these past 12 months but it does have it's flaws.
Have used mine for all flavours in the range and had none of the problems you talk about, so must be only on some. No leaking at all after one years on/off medium ( 2 to 6 daily ) use. For $10 it's a steal. Smaller/better than my much liked Aldi machine.
P.S. For a better quality cup I grind/manually make my own in a Manual Machine, these capsule machines when in a hurry or needing to make multiple coffees quickly, or just can't be bothered haha. Love the option of both depending on mood/convenience.
That's good to hear the little problems mine has are quite common for this machine a number of people have mentioned it in the Woolies posts when they've had the free machine specials. Those posts made up the bulk of the research I did on these machines before buying them.
Sure. I like to do a fair bit of research too before buying new tech, but as I got the machine for almost free after buying the pods in that Woolies deal, I just grabbed it and enjoyed a new flavour/toy/gift/back up and was really surprised with small compact size, performance and quality for such a low price ( around $15, but often $50 ).
Got a CaffItaly given to me recently (with over 400 pods included!), otherwise I would grab this for sure.
I really like Vittoria Mountain Grown (black pack) coffee too, use it with my stovetop caffeteria.
really good machine. its quieter than Nespresso one.
That would depend on which model Nespresso one your talking about ( there are so many different models ).
But yep, I like the fast start up too ( little quicker than Aldi ( rounded 2015 model ), maybe ready to brew after fifteen seconds or so. Drinking a shot of Espresso after about one minute from switch on ( if doing the proper pre-dose after warm up ).
i was comparing with Nespresso INISSIA
Sure, that's the smallest/cheapest in the range ( unless you get different model on an earlier super sale/cash back deal or clearance offer ).
Inissia is pretty loud. When I use the Inissia and my cat is in the kitchen, it's loud enough to scare the shit out of her lol
Oops, quieter than quicker, my miss read. Both a good bonus though.
Are they selling them at the Chadstone store?
Thanks
I'll be there on the weekend I'll let u know if I find any
Thanks!
I really wish pod machines would die.
So incredibly wasteful, so much rubbish made from them :(
And no wonderful coffee aroma of grinding your own coffee beans.
There has some stainless steel pods which is re-usable
Only for nespresso
At that price, I wonder what you could repurpose it as.
