Vaya has announced some new pricing and plans which are even cheaper than before.

All plans listed below have unlimited standard talk, SMS & MMS and monthly included data billed per KB.

The cheapest plans are the 12 month plans or you can choose a month to month plan…

12 month plans:

Unlimited S: $174 upfront ($14.50/month) for 1GB
Unlimited M: $240 ($20/month) for 2GB
Unlimited L: $288 ($24/month) for 3GB
Unlimited XL: $396 ($33/month) for 7GB

Month to month plans:

Unlimited S: $16/month for 1GB
Unlimited M: $22/month for 2GB
Unlimited L: $26/month for 3GB
Unlimited XL: $36/month for 7GB

Use coupon code vaya3 for a further $3 off month to month plans (for new orders until 23 August 6 September). These monthly prices may be the same as what they had before but now come with unlimited standard talk.

If you can find something cheaper they have a price beat guarantee.

PS: I realise there is some hate out there for Vaya and I have never used them personally, but I think these deals are decent and will save many people money? Other telcos have their issues too. I'd rather pay these rates than $100/month.

Update: Promo extended from 23/8 to 6/9

        • If you change to another plan, there's an admin fee. It's either $10 or $5, I can't remember.

Too many hassles. Happy to pay $10/month more with iinet

Just wanted to balance out all the Vaya hate on here. I've been with Vaya for almost 4 years, I've always gotten through to customer service within 5 mins of being on hold (maybe a couple of times up to 10 mins), always had a helpful service rep that could fix my problem right away. Never got over changed. If you go over data, they cut your data connection but do not charge you extra (unlike Exetel that can run up hundreds of dollars of data fees, which happened to my girlfriend - but that's another story). Adding an extra gig of data is a simple one step process that cost me $8 during the few months that I needed it - available almost immediately. Sure the $20 deposit fee was a bitter pill to swallow, but services like TPG have always charged that same fee. Compared to the crappy service and overbilling issues I've experienced with TPG, Exetel and Vodaphone - I've been happy to stay on Vaya. It's Optus 4G and it's dirt cheap. Even if I never see that $20 deposit fee again, it's long since paid for itself. (and I never saw my $20 TPG deposit back either)

  • according to this article the $20 customer deposit has been removed

    https://www.whistleout.com.au/MobilePhones/Guides/How-does-V…

    • Yes it has, those who got charged can't get it back unless they leave, which is bullshit.

        • @justmiike: Long wait…

    Don't know how this is a bargain….
Cheaters and not having good service… Still wondering why people still going for Vaya…

The TIO (Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman) is your friend whenever you have a problem, log a complaint if your problem is not getting resolved (a few minutes) and they (VAYA) will call you up faster then you can blink. Has always worked for me, gotten anti-competitive port out fees waived etc, anything more serious like overbilling and the TIO jump on it even harder.

  • Vaya, not again….! Had 3 accounts….charged $60 for single postage(3sim cards) even after promising free delivery …! Again they charged $20/account as deposit…! When I cancelled one of the three account they said that $20 deposit will be returned only after closing all the accounts..! Now I cancelled all the accounts and I can't see the deposit money yet. It's been almost 3 months…!!! A BIG NO for VAYA ….

I ported to Vaya using the 2-month Groupon deal in May this year. I ported out 4 weeks ago. They didn't charge me a cent and I have had no problems at all! I found their customer service pretty good.

  • +2

never again will this shambolic business ever see me as a customer again.. Avoid like the plague.

  • +1

Vaya….Not in this lifetime again. even if they come up with a free plan.

Vaya (aka Live Connected) .. abysmal 'no bar' service at home on Optus network and no help when I logged support call. So I cancelled and went to Telechoice/Telstra (yay .. 3 bars!!) and it then took three calls and a month to get my 'security deposit' back. Rubbish company, just rubbish .. :-( .. !!

Worst customer experience of my life. SO many issues from: Disconnecting me on a monthly because my bolt-ons were not activating or being unable to even phone them for days (Line was dead) or blatantly lying to me about reissuing my sim card, which never arrived…AVOID!

Also - Optus do 8GB for $40, which is who I'm with now and its like a breath of fresh air

  • I switched away early last year because of new charges that they didn't bother informing customers of, as well as a whole heap of billing issues that was a nightmare to fix up.

These plans sure look nice, but I'd rather pay more with my current providers than go back to a cheaper Vaya.

That said, if Amaysim acquired them and have worked to fix up those issues, I may reconsider. Is that Ben guy still involved with the company? That's probably the dealbreaker for me, LOL.

Vaya is okay, it's a good time to join them as all the crap has been fixed. No more $20 charge (but current customers have to leave to get it back), customer service is better and reception is good. Price beat guarantee is not accurate on the website, it has to be the same plan for them to beat.

But, the damage has been done.

  • +3

Been with Vaya since LiveConnected was rolled into them. Never had a problem. Saved thousands by now when compared to being with Optus directly so really happy.

  • Vaya is cancer.

I have 1 plan with vaya and no problems. If i have any questions I use facebook and they respond quickly.

    • I give credit here, their Facebook rep is fast to respond and is helpful.

I just found out that Vaya have been charging me $16/month for access. I PORTED OUT ON JUNE 5TH!

Not happy! If I don't get the 3x$16 back and that initial $20 retainer (without any time-wasting customer services failures) it'll be straight to the ombudsman.

Vaya has a referral program whereby a new user can provide their referrer with $25 credit. When the new user signs up and enters the referrers mobile number in the "How did you hear about us?" section of the purchase page. once the service is activated then the $25 goes to the referrer.

I just signed up with Vaya and wish I'd know this so I could give a $25 credit to someone here.

  • Merged from $3 off for 3 Months on a Vaya Mobile Plan

    Hey guys,

Wanted to give you all the heads up that we are extending the $3 off for 3 months promotion. Just use VAYA3 when signing up online. It applies to all of our month to month plans except the Unlimited S. So this includes:

Power Plan: $15/month (first 3 months) for 1.5GB
    Unlimited M: $19/month (first 3 months) for 2GB
    Unlimited L: $23/month (first 3 months) for 3GB
Unlimited XL: $33/month (first 3 months) for 7GB

Whilst our Unlimited S plan isn't on promo, we are heaps chuffed to currently have the cheapest Unlimited plan in Australia at $16/mth no lock-in contract.

Here to answer any questions and would love to get your feedback.

    Cheers, Ian

    • applies to existing customers?

      • Hey, this is for new orders only.

If you are an existing customer looking for some additional savings then check out our Refer a Friend program. You'll score $25 credit each time you successfully refer a friend. On top of this, our Price Beat Guarantee applies to existing customers, so if you can find a comparable (non-promotional) plan at a cheaper price, give us a call and you can get your next month free + we'll price match for as long as you remain a Vaya customer.

        Cheers, Ian

    • Why not Unlimited S?

If it is in, i will give it a try

      • Hey there, we are not running the promo on the Unlimited S. However, if you are looking to save a few extra bucks there is the 12 month options, which works out to be $14.50/mth. Let me know if you need any help on this one.

    • not bad price but no unlimited overseas calls to 10+ countries.. otherwise would have gone for it.

    • I just signed up to Vaya. unfortunately there is no referral wiki so if people wanted to sign up and share the love with their ozbargain comrades.

new users can sign up by providing the mobile number of their referrer.

      Does it include a headache?

      • +1

That's merely the beginning… later turns to a migraine, scratched nails & loss of voice

        • -1

          loss of voice

Well then you wont need a mobile phone

Despite the bad press I've had my parents on Vaya for 4 years and they haven't had a problem.

    • I think a lot of people will veer towards the 7GB package, which after the first 3 months is $36 & personally think it's consirably better value to pay a few more dollars e.g. Optus? & get a reliable provider that works.
      * I was with Vaya for 3yrs & it worked fine on occasion but my time was littered with numerous problems. I would seriously not use this service even if it was free… DYOR

      • I was with Vaya for about 3 years also and only had one problem (can't remember what it was, some minor billing issue I believe) which was resolved on the first call which was answered within 5 minutes. I have signed up about 6 people with them over the years and only one of them has had any issues, it was to do with the per MB billing (which in now per KB) and was more of an issue with his Samsung phone and bad home wifi connection. An update of android turned of a new 'feature' which would revert to mobile data when it was better than his home wifi (which was most of the time) so because it was connecting back and forth between the WiFi and Mobile network the per MB billing chewed through his data. He called Vaya when he received an extra large bill for excess data (and after we had figured out why) and they gave him a refund for all excess charges. Vaya is still my go to company to refer people to.

TL;DR One person's bad experience shouldn't deter you from a decent company in other peoples experience.

        • Note: I have never received a referral credit (I didn't even know that was a thing until reading it just now) so no bias here.
        • I would say don't let one person's good experience encourage you to sign up to a dreaful company :)

There so so many reasons to avoid this company. I have received bad customer service before but these guys are a whole new level

Was in Liveconncted , but when Vaya bought Liveconncted. I had to shift to Vaya. Had lot of issues with over charging many times. Finally moved to TPG, but never got the deposit back. I would not recommend Vaya to anybody

      • +2

Just had an issue with overcharging too, so definitely looking to move away from Liveconnected/Vaya no matter how cheap the offer.

    • +1

Is this deal for real? $3 off?

      • No it's $9 off… Not spectacular still but if you're on that lowest plan comes to about 8.3% off for 3 months

    • Leaving Vaya as just moved into Belconnen ACT area and optus reception is terrible.

    • +1

A Whopping $9 discount….over three months. For the sake of your own sanity pay abit more for Aldi, LC or literally any other provider.
